Pretty sure he was UFA this summer without this deal.

If he didn't sign by the end of the summer he would have been a UFA.

Not as long as Lefebvre is coach. You know there is a problem when players the age of Leblanc and Palushaj regress offensively. Even Gallagher, who looks like a legit NHL talent and is a Calder candidate, wasn't putting up awe inspiring numbers under Lefebvre earlier in the year. Good numbers, but you'd think a guy who is doing what he is in the NHL, would have lit up the A.

Montreals prospect pool is looking pretty good

Kristo, Leblanc, Collberg
Hudon, Bournival, Holland
Bozon, Dumont, Avtsin
Archambault, Vail, MacMillan

Beaulieu, Tinordi
Ellis, Thrower
Dietz, Didier

i think Kristo will be one of these players that will be really good for us
in the future. He's got a different offensive style that montreal doesn't have.
Hopefully he makes the team next year.

I agree. Kristo could do well on a third line. Maybe even this year. We'll see...

Supper happy the Kristo is signed and start working towards the NHL but in all Seriousness Lefebvre needs to get fired, its a very important job coaching an NHL team's farm club. The fate of a lot of prospects hinges on how they develop their junior skills at the pro level and Lefebvre is doing nothing but destroying all the work that had already been done. Leblanc played pretty well in his call-up to the Habs last season and this year he looks like a fringe AHLer...

Just worried that he goes nuts in the Montreal nightlife, even though I am sure that MB will surround him with babysitters. Would not have imagined him landing here last year. But in any case, future looks bright for forwards with Collberg, Bozon, Hudon, and this year's 6 picks in the first 3 rounds.

He is turning 23 in the summer. He is not a teenager anymore.

Some Hab fans act like this guy is the offspring of Charlie Sheen and Robert Downey Jr., instead of just a kid at college. Geeez.

I watched Kristo a lot this year at UND and his going to be a really good player. Their line was dominant. I hope he does well for you guys.

Don't know too much about Lefebvre besides what I hear about Leblanc and his crappy play in Hamilton, but Gallagher, Tinordi and Beaulieu seem to be doing ok with him. Also looking at Tokarski's numbers, .942 looks pretty sweet to me.

The staff had done a good job with the D. Tokarski is what he is, a good prospect goalie.

Gallagher's ppg is better in the NHL than in the A. Usually a rookie has a drop off moving to the big team in terms of PPG. I think his numbers should have looked better in the A considering how good an nhler he looks. Guys like Leblanc and Palushaj regressed offensively. Something ain't right in Hamilton this year with regard to how they're dealing with the forwards.

No, the loophole only applies to 3rd year NCAA players that played hockey for a season after their draft outside the NCAA.

So he could UFA last summer, this summer he either signs or is an RFA.
