Good luck, Clowey. Gonna miss your craziness and antics. I could put up with it way more than Eager because you're OUR crazy man. The Sharks need to get faster though and can't afford your demands so milk a 6 year 5 mill per contract out of Sather. He's the only one dumb enough to do it.

Just wanted to say that we'll take good care of him, Sharks fans. I'm sure we'll learn to love him as much as you did...provided he can put some pucks in the net. Even so, I'm sorry to see your hero go. I remember how devastated I was when Brian Leetch was traded to the Maple Leafs...still angers me thinking about. Even if the haul was good, some players deserve to spend their career with one team and it seems like many of you guys feel that way about Clowe.

Enjoy the draft picks and cheer us and Clowe on!

I still can't get over it, but it's slowly sinking in... Clowe's no longer a Shark.

Clowe is a warrior, a man who plays the game with his heart on his sleeve, and a one of the most emotional guys on our team.

Thank you for good times, good luck in New York, and when the time is right, please come back to us!

Taunting the LA Kings bench in that one playoff series... ahh, good memories.

Good luck, Clowey. Unless you're playing against us.

Been a Sharks fan since the 90's and Clowe was one of my favourite Sharks to ever put on a jersey. The intensity combined with the points put up, he was pound for pound the toughest player in the league in his prime. It's too bad the team couldn't get it done with all the glorious opportunities its had. Thanks for the memories Clowe and good luck in New York.

I know I've been wanting him traded for a while now but when I think about it, Clowe was one of my favorite all time Sharks too.

For once, a "Thank You" thread that is actually merited. I can't think of a player that the Sharks have traded since the lockout (or since these threads started popping up a few years back) that deserved our appreciation as much as Clowe does. Honestly, while he often caused us mind-numbing frustration due to his habit of taking completely idiotic roughing penalties, Clowe truly did make a significant impact on this team. Especially when the games mattered. He and Pavelski single-handedly got us through Colorado in 2010, when Thornton and Marleau were struggling. If Clowe doesn't dominate the way he did in that series, the Sharks go out in the first round again and God knows if they ever manage to make a playoff run with this group of players. But he did, and I think it helped take some of the weight of past playoff losses off. Thornton and Marleau decimated the mighty Red Wings, and the Sharks no longer could be called "chokers." Ah, I really did believe that 2010 was our year. After Game 5 against Detroit, after the way they looked, I really did think that it was finally going to happen. It makes me sad thinking about it. I don't think I have ever truly believed like I did in the few days between the Sharks crushing Detroit and promptly being crushed by Dave Bolland and Dustin Byfuglien. And Niemi.

Good luck to Clowe. I do hope that he can make a difference in New York and I will root for them in the East come playoff time. That is, if they make it. It doesn't take too many goals to win when you have the best goalie on the face of the earth in your net, but the Rangers can't seem to come up with even that much.

Don't worry. Hard working players are beloved in New York, and someone who can win a fight and play solid hockey is a breath of fresh air to us.

Unfortunately, the way our fanbase goes nuts with nicknames, people might start calling him "Clower", and, I'm just not sure if that's ok.

Oh we've got a bunch of nicknames handy. And photoshops. And GIFs.

As far as adding a letter to his name though, it's more Clowey than Clower.

Edit : Crabs.

I have spent more time watching Ryane Clowe in a teal sweater than I have with some of my own friends, and I suppose that's what sucks and makes me sad - that together as fans and with the team we didn't get a cup with that group of guys. A 6th round pick who grinded his way into our roster the hard way. He kept opponents honest, he went to the dirty areas of the ice and he came through in some key/clutch moments. From the backhanded shootout move, to the screaming threats across the bench at Colorado - he was an integral part of what made us successful since the lockout. He fought, battled, and cheated his way towards helping the Sharks win, often at the expense of a penalty.

Thanks Clowe.

I miss Clowe... This is probably the most painful trade I've had to sit through as he was so much of our bad ass identity. He'll always receive cheers from me. It sucks thinking he was gonna really have a solid season, turned out crappy, and he ends up getting traded. I even wanted the trade but its bittersweet at the same time. Special player and I don't give a crap if he has 0 goals.

The very few NYR fans who actually have no Idea who this guy is are in for a huge shock when he goes HAM. Don't forget his ability to randomly come up big in a playoff game either. Great pickup for them and I'm glad he's out east and not on a team that infuriates me.

Also, for all the talk of it being Pavelski, I always thought our best playoff performer was Clowe. Every single night he put 110% in to help the team win.

Truly wish the rest of the team played like he does. Thank you Ryane.

hasn't sunk in yet, maybe after watching another game tonight. although he's very invisible this year anyway until you see a bad pass or a shot right at the goalie instead of behind him.

edit: ok after getting torres, i really miss clowe now. what a great team player he was. brought the most consistent grit this team lacked for years. good luck clowe!

Great, so would you tell your fellow Rangers fans that I'm not a raging homer? Because I just don't think they get the message.

This is what happens when no one watches Sharks games. They make assumptions, they call Sharks fans homers, and then they figure out that they were beyond wrong.
