Don Cherry/Brian Williams Debate...

Anybody have a video or context of the arguement between the two about the WJC brawl where he chewed Williams out?

IIRC, Williams was referring to the "lights out" brawl between Canada and Russia as a "disgrace for Canada", etc, etc, and just before going to the commercial Cherry told him - while still on the air, mind you - that if he kept it up when they got back from the break, there'd be a problem.

I don't remember the exact words he used, but it was a pretty direct threat. When they got back from the break, everything had calmed down.

I remember an interview Williams had were he was saying how it was a blackmark on Hockey. According to Cherry when they went to commercial he leaned over to Williams and siad if you ever say that again about Canadian Hockey he'll choke him or something like that.

Its funny cause when Williams was talking just before the commercial break he was saying how something like "these boys had better learn, and they'd better learn soon..........." and you could just see Cherry disagreeing off to the side. Cherry used an argument that if the Russians cleared their bench first (which they did) if the Canadian coach didnt send his players out he wouldnt be a man( it was Bert Templeton. Williams admitted that he couldnt defend that statement.

Its funny how the two of them are friends now eh?
