You have to assume Kassian will be around as well.

Looks like we'll be putting a few good players on waivers next fall. Da Costa and Hoffman both need waivers to go back to the AHL and I'm not sure there's room for them.

My ideal is very similar to CH's.

Greening-Spezza-Michalek
Hoffman-Turris-Alfredsson
Conacher-Zibanejad-Silfverberg
Condra-Smith-Neil
JOB
Kassian

Methot-Karlsson
Wiercioch-Gonchar
Cowen-Phillips
Gryba

Anderson
Lehner

I really think Hoffman can break out. If they think otherwise, I'd put Hoffman in Bingo and re-sign Latendresse.

I'd still like us to pick up a legit top 6 winger in the off-season, two depending on what Alfie does.

You're scratching Wiercioch over Phillips?

I don't care how much Phillips has done for this organization, if we are good enough on the back end that Wiercioch and Phillips are our 6/7 defenceman, then we BETTER have Wiercioch in the lineup over Phillips.

I expect Wiercioch will probably be affected by the sophomore slump, but I agree those two are very interchangeable.

I agree with your thought process here.

It's interesting.

I wonder if Phillips will realistically be a healthy scratch often. It could happen, but I feel like the organization wouldn't do that.

This team goes into next year with

x - Spezza - MM
Conacher - Turris - x
Greening - Zib - Silf
JOB - Z.Smith - Neil
Kassian/2CHAINZ

King K - Methot
Cowen - x
Phillips - Gryba

Andy
Lehner

RFA's

Condra
Wierchioch

UFA's
Alfie
Lats
Gonchar
Regin
Lundin

They have almost 23 million in cap space future looks bright in Ottawa imo. Wouldn't be shocked to see a trade for some high end talent from a team pressed against the cap, with the cap coming down 5.9 Mil next year. Have to say I am nothing but impressed with BM and the sens scouting staff.

If the cost was somewhat cheap, I'd love to try and get Okposo from the Isles, I'd think he'd do well here.

You have to think Senators will make one more huge trade in the off-season and be star the reign of contention.

Hypothetical example is we make a big offer for Eriksson/Ryan

Eriksson/Ryan-Spezza-Michalek
Latendresse-Turris-Alfredsson
Conacher-Zibanejad-Silfverberg

Deepest and most lethal top 9 in the league.

Haha, never seen your post. Excellent. Agree with it all except for the pairings. I think they will be altered a bit.

Did you just combine "start" and "begin" there?

I'd like to see that happen, providing none of the Swedes are traded.

*drool* even if we get like nathan horton I'd be happy. My only problem is we might need a little physicality and size in tht top 9 if we get that we are set

There's a couple teams that are going to be hard pressed to fit under the new cap next year + retain there stars:

-Sharks only have 14 players signed, and $10M in cap space.
-Vancouver only has 14 players signed with just over 2M in cap spa e
-

Anaheim only has 11 mill and that's with no second line signed

I think Bobby Ryan might end up here. Just a weird feeling. Ducks will have to move salary.

But anyway, losing Alfie next year would still really weaken our top six. Just looking at the combos and thinking about the lines I've made - it's so awesome to pair Turris and Alfie and 'poof' awesome line.

*stay tuned for more obvious posts as events warrant"

I could be wrong, but wouldn't be surprised if we made a pitch for Ryan this summer.

Michalek - Spezza - Ryan
Latendresse - Turris - Alfredsson
Conacher - Zibanejad - Silfverberg
Greening - Smith - Neil

So lethal, especially combined with MacStache's tendency to play who's good rather than roll lines. A different hero every night.

It's funny, just reading this give me the same sense as well. I can't make logical sense of it, since he's a good deal for ANA, but it feels right.

This is a pipe dream but not overly as we have a ton of assets.

Trade greening, Hoffman, 2014 1st, 2013 3rd, gryba
For
Eriksson and 2014 2nd

Also

Stone, borowiecki and 2014 2nd for Eric Johnson.

Sign Nathan Horton.

Eriksson-spezza-michalek
Horton-turris-alfie
Conacher-zibby-silfverberg
Condra-smith-Neil

Karlsson-method
Cowen-Johnson
Phillips-wiercioch

Anderson
Lehner

Omg!

There are a lot of UFAs that could fill a Top 6 place. Then you will have teams doing salary dumps. A player I'd love to see and would fit a good Top 6 Dman is a guy like Keith Ballard.

You got a guy like Derek Roy, Brenden Morrow, Jariome Iginla as pending UFAs that would fit right in.

I also believe, that Alfie will come back again for a full 82 game season. Seeing that they are very well built he'll take another crack if they dont win this year.

You crazy. If we could get him for that price I'd do it in a heartbeat. RHD too, would be a perfect fit.
