You're absolutely right. I've noticed multiple times Bryz ducking his head on high shots that have gone over the net.
Problem with Bryz (among many) is that he has poor save selection. He was overplaying that puck with the glove, and to increase your range of motion, you have to sink your body a bit (at least it makes it easier). That poor form + the deflection caused that stopable goal
Bryz isn't elite and never was. He never had the lateral movement to be elite. When i watch guys like Lundqvist, Quick, Rinne, and all the other top tier goalies they have outstanding agility in the crease. Bryz is a big loafer. Once he's committed to making the first save any second chance he can't stop because he doesn't have the ability to recover. His glove hand sucks. Have you noticed when he does make a glove save he just punches it to the corner.
well we know he isn't elite now too, but when he was offerred that contract it meant he was expected to play at an elite level and not duck out of the way and not even try on some of these goals. I never want another goalie out of Tippet's system.
