Best/Worst Trades Of The Day

Curious to see what everyone thinks.

Best - Buffalo adding 1st 13', 2nd 14', Johan Larson, & Matt Hackett and the Wild adding Jason Pominville. Trade works out really well for both teams (hopefully). I like how the Sabres got 2 quality picks and 2 quality prospects, but Minnesota got a player who will make hopefully make an impact right away and make Minny that much more dangerous.

I dont really know about the worst but im shocked to see Cory Conacher (hometown boy) traded away. I can't believe the market for Ben Bishop was so high to the point they were asking for Sean Couterier. I would never of guessed they would be shooting for that ballpark.

The trade for Gaborik was good for CBJ. They didn't pay much for an elite level scorer.

Worst I think is the Erat for Foresberg trade. Erat is old and not that great of a scorer.

I can't believe the Caps gave up on Forsberg so quickly.

Gaborik to Columbus was the best trade. Close 2nd was the Pominville trade.
I was not a fan of the Bishop trade, I feel Tampa overpayed for Bishop.

Completely forgot about that one. Had no idea what the caps were thinking. Erat is what? 32? Just doesn't make much sense.

I don't know how to judge how good or bad trades are but the Caps got railed by Nashville.

+: BUFFALO: adding all those picks and prospect, to a already decent core

HOMER: Cory Conacher + 4th, even though we lost a good goaltender. TB have acquired their starter for next year

-: WASHINGTON: I'm still wondering what McPhee was thinking. I know Forsberg is not a sure thing, but going forward, he was part of a decent pool of young kids on their way up

Worst looks like either Washington or Tampa Bay. I can't believe Yzerman traded Conacher for a goalie when his defense is the problem.

Erat and Gabby are the same age and Erat is probably the lost consistent 50-60pt. Player in the league, just because people don't watch the boring trap southern hockey team doesn't mean he's bad. Put him with an actual offensive player or two an he'd get 60+ annually.

Think George McPhee was talking about the wrong Forsberg

I'm a bit influenced by HF's overrating of picks and prospects but I still think the Wsh/Nsh and Ott/TB deals were kind of unbalanced. Forsberg and Conachar both had tremendous talent. I can see that Bishop filled a hole for the Lightning but did the Caps have the need for Erat?

Caps/bolts fan

No huge issue with Forsberg trade. I dont think he will be very good.
Loosing conacher is horrible, and the worst trade AINEC

hmmm I thought Stevey Y was a little fast on the goalie move, isn;t Lindback still new to the league? I mean sheesh. he could have improved his defense by calling NJ lol Tons of starters!

Forsberg is only a prospect but a good one. Erat isn't that great, I think this is a pretty bad one for Washington.

Conacher for Bishop.... Where to start on that one?

You guys make Cory Conacher sound like the second coming of Nazem Kadri.

Parochial choice, no doubt, but for me the best trades today were the ones that didn't get made for goalies to mentor or overshadow Reimer. Let's see how things unfold.

In all fairness to the brevity of that report, Murray likely tried to go Bishop ++ for Couturier. Which Holmgren, rightly balked at. Happy they didn't bite on Rinaldo + a 2nd.

I guess the Wild are all in, but I'd rather be a Buffalo fan tonight. I mark that one as the best

Bishop for Conacher is a head-scratcher.

New York seems to be in good shape.

Brassard- 1g 3a
Clowe- 2g 1a
Moore- 1g

Glad to have Gabby though, and glad to see some of my favorite guys doing well. Can't wait to see Gaborik with Johansen.
