Found this in the NHL.com article on the Gaborik trade:
Clowe has yet to score this season, but he has been right around the 20-goal mark throughout his career. Brassard gives the Rangers a third quality center behind Brad Richards and Stepan and has seven goals and 11 assists this season after averaging about 40 points per game the past three seasons.
I'm glad we're all doing such a great job of keeping things in perspective . . .
I'm glad you're here to kill all our buzz.

one game, but it was the best the Rangers have looked since the first half of last season.... They gave a FULL 60 minute EFFORT.. Most of all thats what I loved the most, and yes the goals certainly helped.
I missed the first 2 periods because I had a late night tonight; knew I was going to miss them and was very disappointed to miss seeing how these guys started their careers with NYR. Looks like it was a good game.
Were we actually lookin good, border-line dominant? Or were they all finally getting good bounces / MAF playing horribly?
I was one of the bigger proponents of the trades that were made, but even that said, I really don't want this one game to make peoples' expectations go through the roof. Lets at least keep them on this planet folks. There is no way this level of scoring continues. I hate to see the reactions if any of these guys makes a mistake or goes into a slump at any point during their time here...
That said, while its just one game; and we'll see if it continues, at the very least it demonstrates how these deals may not have been as awful as reading these boards would have indicated to an outsider. I hope people who were absolutely throwing hissy fits at both of these trades and acting like babies are at least getting used to the idea of cookin up some crow or lookin up some recipes (premature to say you should definitively eat it, but its a good start).
