Who would've thought 48 hours ago we would lose Gaborik and gain Clowe, Brassard, Moore, and Dorsett.

Haha come on, it was clearly tongue in cheek, look at the way I worded it!

I'm as happy as anyone else around here about the win tonight, trust me.

Eh, Pyatt had an OK game. He looked good with Asham and Powe.

I was one of the bigger proponents of the trades that were made, but even that said, I really don't want this one game to make peoples' expectations go through the roof. Lets at least keep them on this planet folks. There is no way this level of scoring continues. I hate to see the reactions if any of these guys makes a mistake or goes into a slump at any point during their time here...

That said, while its just one game; and we'll see if it continues, at the very least it demonstrates how these deals may not have been as awful as reading these boards would have indicated to an outsider. I hope people who were absolutely throwing hissy fits at both of these trades and acting like babies are at least getting used to the idea of cookin up some crow or lookin up some recipes (premature to say you should definitively eat it).
We completely dominated. MaF didn't even play that badly, we were simply all over him.

I actually was not kidding at all when I made a remark about that earlier.

My concern is not just Tort's system, but the enforcement of any system. I'm going to watch and see if the free flow creativity, the beauty of hockey, becomes stilted, and then gone.

In case you are wondering, I'm not really in favour of a one-size-fits-all 'system'.

I thought the whole 4th line was good tonight.

Asham made a complete ****** of himself, Powe was Powe, and Pyatt didn't screw anything up.

I remember we wanted Brassard in 06. A lot of people did. He was an acclaimed darkhorse center. Look at his talent passing the puck. HOLY ****! I don't know his injury history or if he'll keep it up with the change of scenery but I absolutely loved him.

Oh, please. Brassard and Boyle will do a good job of that all on their own.

The opposing team played last night, is without their best player, their second best player is fresh off of injury and looks terrible, and they didn't show up to play tonight at all. I mean, just think about some of those goals. That first Clowe goal . . . my goodness, he should send Orpik a gift basket for that one.

Just sayin', anything tonight should be taken with a grain of salt. Besides, Nash-Stepan-Callahan was consistently the best line tonight, even if the scoresheet says otherwise. They just happened to not have guys cough the puck up in the middle of the slot for them.

He's a talented centerman. At the very worst he can be a productive third line centerman and a big help on this anemic, boring powerplay. Thats why I was shocked when Ranger fans were so dismissive earlier today about him. He can fit this team very well

We won't score 6 goals every night, and we dont need to with Hank. IF this team can even get 3 goals a night, with Hank you win more often than not.

Rangers actually have 3 lines they can roll out there that can possibly score.

Sure, the Penguins were not at their best.
It's not like I do not know that, but these stress tests of of teams like the Penguins are good, this kind of thing serves a purpose.

Not much to dislike about this game. For the first time in like a year the Rangers weren't embarrassed by the Penguins.

The bad news is they were missing Crosby, Letang, and Martin, and their defense is a joke right now. However, they've still dominated the Rangers with their "weak" lineups lately and have a lot of good players.

Rangers looked sharp, fast, physical, and jumping on the puck at every chance. Good game

Agreed.

Stepan becoming the most reliable forward on the team.
