I'm predicting a Cy Young year for Clayton. He and Verlander better not let me down.

I had them both last year (my first ever baseball championship).

Go Dodgers!

MLB extra innings free preview.

Do yourself a favor and turn on the Astros/Rangers game as soon as you can.

OH MY GOD. He Marty Biron'd that big time.

Just put your leg on it! UGH.

To come that close, Jesus. I can't even imagine, and the dude walks off the mound with that smile on his face that you know he couldn't help but laugh. Ugh, poor kid.

The Astros are a horrible team lol.

No relation to the gem that Yu pitched. Just wanted to throw that out there. My God.

Damn. Darvish took it like a champ. Once he gave up the hit he was smiling.

F that guy Gonzalez, that Perfecto would have been awesome. Yay for Darvish though, 14K's only one hit, he's good stuff.

It is downright baffling how it's 30 degrees at night there in NYC.

Yo, Spring: anytime you feel like arriving, New York is ready.
Temps in 30s for #Yankees and #Mets games tonight.

My god.

I am praying to the baseball gods for no serious injuries. That right there will have people debating if us or the Nats have the best rotation in the NL for the next decade.

mets are looking good so far. they are definetly set up well with starting pitching. buck seems to be a good fill in so far until d'arnaud is ready to start playing. will be interesting to see if they can compete with the nats and braves in the division. they were good for the first half of last year and just tailed off in the second half. i think this team could be better than last years though. as for the yankees older players + injuries aren't always a good combo and it's just not looking good so far. i guess i can try to be optimistic considering it has only been two games but i think it just might be a sign of things to come unfortunately.

It would be funny if Buck played his ass off and suplied HR power while calling a good game blocking TdA from coming up.

It wouldn't block TdA. They'd find a spot for Buck somehow or just trade him to the Yankees for a top prospect (if they have any left) after they become desperate.

Not my fault the org is suddenly so rich in pitching talent .

Seriously though, I think one of these guys is gonna get traded for a young OF with upside/in a package for a stud OF.

Perhaps. I hope they wait a year, though. I am willing to let these guys develop a bit more to maximize their trade value. Fulmer is a hell of a prospect, but he needs some high A or AA time before he has some truly elite trade value. I think he is likely to be moved if he continues to improve. Although the organization is quite invested in him.

I don't know. I am just so happy we have some legitimate young talent in the system.

Oh yeah, definitely tons of options.

It's crazy how Sandy took what was basically a barren farm system and turned us into what he did. People can rip on the guy for not improving the OF or not trading Jose instead of just letting him walk/not resigning him or whatever, but he's done a great job drafting and acquiring some talent.

Is anyone else annoyed by SNY's insistence on using that behind-the-plate camera for entire at bats? I just watched Duda strike out on what was apparently a slider, but I have no idea if it barely caught the inside corner or broke back over the middle of the plate. Why? Because the entire flight of the pitch was obscured by the combination of the catcher, batter and umpire.

That's a novel viewing perspective, and one that would be interesting when discussing a guy with a deceptive delivery or weird arm slot. For entire at bats and in each inning? It's ridiculous, and makes it really hard to watch.
