I think we can now.

Either a banged up Nucks squad or the unsustainable Ducks. I think with our new emphasis on puck movers for the transistion game, we could also do well against the Preds and the St. Louis forecheck.

I don't want Chicago.. even without Hossa and Sharpe. Don't want LA either. Against anyone else I think we, at the very least, make it a series.

Well-played. I didn't even notice that the thread title mis-spelled 'jinx' until you put that.

ducks, canucks, kings - who do you want to play?

nothing is set in stone but good chance we will get one of the three. just for discussion sake who do you think we have the best chance against?

In my order of preference:

Ducks
Canucks

Kings

I want to avoid LA as long as possible. Plus, we owe both the Ducks and Canucks a little payback in the playoffs.

Any of them with Home Ice Advantage
Anaheim (Advanced numbers say they have overachieved)
LA (Short travel, always exiting games)
Vancouver (Didn't face them with Kesler/Roy, and don't want to)

Looking at it, there's actually a really low chance of us playing LA in the 1st round. I don't see St. Louis losing their last 2 and even if they lose 1, they'd still pass LA and SJ in pts. So, if the LA/SJ game ends in regulation, one team will end up 1 pt behind St. Louis and will be 6th. If the Blues win their last 2(high possibility), they'll clinch 4th so there's no way SJ and LA will meet in the 1st round.
