Can anyone give us more of a report on Flick? Sounds like a ceiling of a 4th line center hits things, isn't that greatly skilled but has good hockey IQ (basically going off of various sites after I had to google the kid).
You pretty much nailed it with the 4th line center. A good locker room guy. A fan favorite because of hits and work ethic . Good hockey IQ garbage goal scorer. Average skater and less than average scorer.

I really liked Sauve. He'd be an NHL veteran if he wasn't plagued by injuries, and a damn good one, too. If he stays healthy, Chicago wins this trade big time.

Just saw Flick's stats. Hope he really bings the intangibles. Hopefully he is tough atleast, does he fight?

Bruins fans on here are overating Sauve's talent imo. He has some but his production has been weak this year in Providence. I think he would need to be waived by next year and he got passed by guy Koko and Knight they hope on the depth chart and weren't going to resign him.

Sauve's either producing a little & then hurt or healthy & doing nothing. The injured & bad providence team excuses aren't there for him this season & he's still not showing much.

Probably wouldn't have been qualified by the bruins & won:t be surprised if he ends up a ufa this july either.

I'll take a mean center in return for that, even if it's just for providence.

According to Chris Block (Icehogs writer), Flick's been frustratingly inconsistent this year with his physical play and his game overall. He showed quite a bit at the end of last year, which resulted in him getting signed by Chicago, but has been very disappointing this season.

Chicago needs to move out some contracts with Stephen Johns, Garret Ross, and Alex Broadhurst needing contracts. I was a fan of Flick, but he's had a hard time finding a niche in the AHL, it seems.

They had Sauve in more of a checking role this year down Providence. He's also learning to slow it down a bit instead of being physical all the time, which is how he kept getting injured. Nobody seems to mention Jared Knights injury issues, but that's because we in Boston get fed a steady diet of Spooner, Knight and Caron. I think he deserved a call up this year ahead of Caron or Spooner, but after watching them inexplicably sign Pandolfo and then play him night in and out, it was obvious they had basically forgotten about Sauve altogether.

Flicks HockeyFights.com clips are embarrassing. Good trade for Chicago, straight up fleecing. The Versteeg comparisons are accurate. Maybe more of a Stalberg/Versteeg hybrid. Doesn't matter really, even Seguins only getting about 13-14 minutes of ice time total. The best and worst thing for the B's was winning the Cup. No one'll ever criticize Claude/Chia ever again.

Sounds sweet, hopefully he'll get a chance next season, god knows we need center depth.
