Ducks didn't want to overpay for a couple months of Roy, and I doubt that Dallas would have traded him to Anaheim.

This is an excellent deal for both sides.

McMillan is very deserving of a shot and wasn't going to get it here. Lombardi could potentially fill a hole for the Ducks for the playoff run, if not, what a wonderful asset to have in your press box or on the bottom lines for the playoffs.

Excellent deal. Very happy.

Why wouldn't they trade with Anaheim? It cant be because they are in the same division because Dallas is leaving the pacific.

McMillan needed a change of scenery. Lombardi's speed is perfect for a Ducks team that emphasizes the forwards being able to move their feet. He is an upgrade to the roster and it didn't cost a great deal. Solid move for both sides.

Dallas plays us the next two games. They are still fighting for that last spot. It's said that Anaheim was trying to get Roy as well but price was too high. I imagine Dallas wanted more from Anaheim than Vancover.

Decent pickup. Should be a reliable 3rd liner/pp guy. Speed is still there, responsible defensively, but his shot has always been a major weakness.

Hearing from those close to McMillan, he has been waiting for a trade for a while now and was wishing for it. His family just bought a house in PHX too, if he ever makes the big club should be good.

I highly doubt that. The price probably was too high for us, because there's a good chance that price was Vatanen and a second. I definitely wouldn't have done that.

Could you explain why? I know I'd rather have Vatanen, and the Ducks probably would, but that's the comparable package and I'd bet that's what they wanted from us to beat Vancouver's package.

He was awful in Toronto, significantly worse than guys like Joey Crabb. Seems like a nice guy, I wish him well, but I question how much NHL level hockey he has in him.

Good depth deal for Anaheim. Bet they would have rather gotten Roy or Ribiero though.

Sounds like we were neck-and-neck with Vancouver for Roy.

I don't think the Caps wanted to trade Ribs. I have to think we would have lost out on Ribeiro as well. He would have been the best rental C on the market and someone that needed him long term would have outbid us.
