Georgetown WTF?

John Thompson, one of the most overrated names in CBB? Maybe.

Apparently the Ravens signed Dumervil...for less than Kruger got.

Logged into ESPN to do my fantasy league, ESPN decided to put me on autodraft, and wouldn't let me undo it, so my first two draft picks were auto-draft. Is there anything sports-related that ESPN can't **** up?

Strasburg has never pitched in the 8th inning in his major league career, but it doesn't matter, because they won today.

I think that is a little more on Davey. He really likes to use the bullpen more than average.

Harper is a beast.

And he only had 80 pitches today too. I guess the kid gloves aren't completely off.

Eh?

1. First day
2. 7 innings
3. Good bullpen

Never got the controversy about how they treat Strasburg. He wins games, and they don't need him to pitch the whole game. So he didn't pitch all 9 innings, it doesn't matter. They still win the games.

How many other pitchers would be pulled after 7 innings with 3 hits and no runs on 80 pitches? I know it's not a big deal and I'm not totally against it, but still... kid gloves.

I think opening day, with the expectations there are this year, would have been a tougher than normal time for him to have his first crack at the 8th inning. I mean, I would have done it, but it doesn't bother me.

I will be extremely curious to see how deep they let him go into games this year, though. Nats starters as a whole weren't great at pitching past the 6th or so last year. It would be huge if they could all take a step forward there.

With the money they spent on the bullpen why not use it?

Hearing Rendon looking great in the minors, he may get to see him some point this season or next.

Anyone know the most pitches Strasburg threw in a game in the spring?

If it is around 80 not sending him out in the 8th surprises me but if it is a good amount less this doesn't surprise me.
