It's Fleury. If Clowe didn't score this game we'd have to invent a stronger word than "snakebit" to describe his shooting luck this season.

Fleury even sucks in NHL 13.

Bernier and McGinn had great starts after getting traded too, I'll take a wait and see approach.

If you read any of our posts over the last month or two, you would get it. He wasn't horrible here because he sucked, he was horrible because he was injured. When he came back from his injury, he was great.

Nope, nooooobody listen to the Sharks fan, it's not like they've watched this guy for 8 years and know his game inside and out... They're just losers who don't even know what hockey is.

Canucks offer to the Sharks for Clowe was also much better than the Rangers according to Botch.

Taj ‏@taj1944 4m
Canucks considered Clowe's salary demands which were 8 years 34 mill according to Botch. #wow

Jensen and a 1st

Seriously, I don't doubt it. To get DW to move him interconference/division and because the Canucks have seen Clowe play a LOT more and know what he can do.

Sucks. I'd have been thrilled.

The first part is unlikely, given what Vancouver gave up for Roy and the market for Clowe. Considering that they were both negotating with DW, there is no reason for Vancouver to have topped NYR's offer so much.

It could very well be true, but in the end, Clowe had the final word, and it seems like he really wanted to go to the east.

And if those salary demands are true... they dont have anywhere near the space for it to work. And the whole same division thing is dumb too because he can just sign with them in the offseason.

Clowe would be one of the last players I'd want to play against in a potential playoff matchup and he'd have a good chance to re-sign in the same division next year. I'm still glad he went to the Rags even if the return would be slightly more.

Yup, I'm glad he's in NY. He can get a lot more recognition there from the daily NHL media circus.

Well not playing him in the playoffs is better than an extra pick.

+1

Seriously.....did you guys see the goals?

A giveaway right in front of the goal line with no other defenders around, and left completely uncovered at the side of a wide open net on the PP.

Clowe's had EN goals that he had to work harder for than those.

Great to see him finally bank a couple and he was way overdue given some of the looks he had earlier this year.

But to me it just kinda encapsulated the difference between the caliber of goaltending/defense between the two conferences.....

In the West, Clowe fires at an open net and some other defender dives in front of the shot to keep it out......over in the East, the opposition blindly hands him the puck and politely gets totally out of his way.

The only way the Penguins could've been any nicer to him on those goals is if Fleury had congratulated him on his goals and then handed him a gift receipt after each one just in case he wanted to exchange it within 30 days for store credit.

Would I rather have had Jensen+1st, even with Clowe in the division? Yes.

Given I think it was probably 1st+ mid-level prospect, totally good with Torres+ 2 2nds.
