what same team??

Our OLine is already improved at 3 positions. LT, RT and LG.

Bushrod > Webb
Webb > Scott/Carimi
LG > Spencer/Rachal (addition by substraction)

not to mention that we have a coach that knows how to play offense

I agree, you upgrade any position you can, whenever you can.

There is no proof Webb is better then Scott/Carimi ,,, Last time we saw Webb at RT he was worst in NFL

Cardinals trade for Carson Palmer now official. Raiders get back a conditional 7th-rd pick in 2014 if Palmer starts 13 games

Carson Palmer's deal with the Cardinals is worth up to $20 million over two years, with $10 million guaranteed.

No, BWC is right. That's all assumption.

Yes, Webb got better at LT as he went, but we don't know how he will be at RT. Secondly, we don't know that Carimi will suck at RT and be moved to RG just yet. From all accounts, he was playing with one leg most of last season, and had no off season to workout due to his rehab of his knee. With a full off season and being healthy, maybe Carimi IS the better of the two and Webb is the swing tackle. Either way, it's PROBABLE that we get better play at RT this year, but it's not a guarantee.

I do think our line took a step forward this off season so far, however, and I hope that after the draft it takes another step forward.

in football before the new season starts, most things are assumptions. Webb will be fine as RT and better than what we had last year.

Agreed that most things are assumptions. They are ever moreso with an entirely new coaching staff and offensive system. We literally don't know what this team is yet, and won't until Week 1 (although some aspects will take shape at Training Camp). Same goes for the defense to a degree.

Kiper was wrong about last year. He had us taking Whitney Mercilus. I just don't see it, but we will see how the draft unfolds.

I'm going to try to post my 1st round mock draft here at some point in the next couple days, so get ready for long post.

Falcons released RT Tyson Clabo.
It's a salary cap move as the Falcons work toward a Matt Ryan extension. Clabo started 100 games and made one Pro Bowl during his seven-year Atlanta career, but was owed $4.5M in each of the next three seasons. In-house replacement Lamar Holmes will make just $480K in 2013. Still, it's surprising to see ProFootballFocus' No. 5 right tackle get axed. Clabo turns 32 in October, but there are plenty of teams in need of a 6'6/329 mauler. He joins Andre Smith and Eric Winston in a surprisingly loaded free agent right tackle market.

If we can fit him under the cap, sign him up.

Right tackle is a Webb/Carimi battle.

I tend to think you're right. Word was trickling out last year that his knee was never healed during the season. I'm hoping with an entire off season, it heals up and he's able to put on significant strength. Bears still don't have a true starting left guard on the roster.

I wouldn't be at all opposed to trading or cutting Carimi if it cleared enough space for someone good and proven.

Carmini is a joke. Had hopes for him but after seeing him in one game at the beginning of the collapse just standing there and letting some DE rush right around him while he just stood there and didnt even move doing a Huet pylon imitation. Lol. Keep on having hopes for this guy.

I'm not expecting us to bring him in by any means, but I'd rather bring in someone who is actually good at their job rather than letting two guys who suck see who can suck less for the starting gig. Doesn't seem like this guy would cost an arm and a leg, and after chasing the RT in Minnesota, maybe this guy could be the answer.

They chased the RT in Minnesota and when they missed they took Bushrod. That money is spent. I don't think the Bears will add anyone until after the draft

as long as Carimi isn't healthy, we don't know about him being a bust or not. Next season is make or break for him for sure.

Completely blanked on Bushrod.

And yeah, I can't see anyone impactful being added via FA at this point... Just a nice thought, though.

have a feeling Emery will make a pick that comes out of the left field with his 1st or 2nd pick of the draft like a QB or DE
