The 3rd pick is huge. In this draft, that means one of MacKinnon, Drouin, or Barkov.

Jones is a lock to go #1 IMO.

Which package of 3 picks (as a whole) has more value? I would suspect most people would rather have Calgary's package of picks, given the strength of the top 3/top 5 of the draft, but depending on the team, if they value depth, they may prefer Columbus' picks.

For me, as a Sens fan, I'd rather have Calgary's picks, but I'm curious about other people's opinions.
Calgary,s but who knows with Feaster drafting

Presuming neither wins the lottery, then Calgary's. If one should win the lottery, then that team's.

Absolutely. Calgary will be starting the rebuild with a top blue chip prospect. I hope everything turns around for the flames as quick as possible.

If season ended today, Calgary would only have 2 2013 first rounders.

They only get St. Louis's 2013 first rounder if St. Louis makes the playoffs (and they are currently sitting in the 9th seed)

Calgary.

The fall off in value of draft picks isn't a straight line.

Columbus' three picks might get you the 3rd overall.

To be honest I would prefer this, as we all know Jbo has a curse () so we get a top 14 pick next year

Excellent point.

With Jarmo at the helm, I'd expect some decent players out of the draft for Columbus.

But 3rd overall is 3rd overall. The talent difference between 3rd and 11th is pretty significant.

But if they can find a willing partner, I wouldn't be too surprised if Columbus moved up at the draft. When Jarmo and JD had three first round picks in St. Louis, they approached Chicago about acquiring the #1 overall for all three picks. (Some rumors have it as two picks and a roster defensemen.)

It also wouldn't surprise me if Jarmo uses the later picks on boom-or-bust type picks.

As a package, I'd rather have the three Calgary picks than the three Columbus picks. But it wouldn't suprise me if Columbus has the better draft looking back in ten years.

Oh, right. I forgot that when you trade down in the draft you don't pick up any other assets.

No Jones, but I'm sure they'll be very happy with Barkov.

Need a center ? the Oilers would offer up Horcoff for those picks

I thought Columbus was very adept yesterday at getting Gaborik. With Jarmo Kekalainen at the helm, it is really going to be a fascinating franchise to watch develop. I can't wait to see what he does with his three picks.

Feasters drafting has looked pretty good so far. Not worried who he would draft, more worried he trades picks away.

Calgary can come of the first round with McKinnon + Domi + Lazar

That can speed up the rebuild in a hurry...
Secretly hoping Feaster passes up on the obvious and goes off the board again hunting for hidden gems

flames have

Flames-3
Blues-17
Pens-29

BJs have
12
Kings-23
NYR- 15

This is a deep draft--but I suspect by the end of the season Flames are in 30th and all other draft picks are from teams in the playoffs for both teams--so Flames win this one
