Trade offers that did not get accepted

It is always fun to hear about the offers that were turned down, I only heard of a couple did anyone hear others?

Lu for Scrivens and 2 2nds (turned down by Toronto)

Jones and a 2nd for Bishop (turned down by Ottawa)

Couturier for Bishop (turned down by Philly)

any others?

The Canucks made offers on Clowe and Torres that got turned down. No idea what they were though.

How about:

Lu for Scrivens and 2 2nds (turned down by Vancouver)

Which is coming from Vancouver sources now, counter to what
Nonis' cousin is say. Get your popcorn ready

Mindful this is "speculation" and link not required, it was rumored multiple teams had offers for Gaborik.

I'm surprised Rangers considered the one they went with the best one, although without knowing what the others actually were, one can't be critical of the deal in context of best offer or not.

I thought Detroit would offer more, like one stud prospect + high pick.

Yup that's being reported in VAncouver now. Love it. Vancouver Media fighting back against the very well hated Eastern Media. From a very reliable source too. Love the counter attack.

Put it this way, does this offer sound like something MIke Gillis will do? Canucks fans were already questioning that from the very beginning.

His cap hit would be very hard for most contenders to fit in. They likely would have asked the Rangers to absorb part of his salary or take a bad contract back.

A radio station here in Phoenix reported that Philadelphia offered Couturier, Read, a 1st, and a 2nd for Yandle+

Either the radio station was bluffing, or the deal was turned down.

I actually think the Gaborik deal was a great hockey trade, both teams got what they need and will be much better post-trade.

Nonis (VAN) had offered Cory Schneider for Gilbert Brule and Doug Maclean (CBJ) turned it down.

That + had to be something significant. Otherwise that's a holy overpayment batman!

Not so much "speculation" since TSN reported it, but apparently the Jets and Sabres were working on a deal with Stafford and Burmistrov as the primaries.
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=419753

Quote:
The Jets were reportedly talking to the Sabres about a deal that would send Alexander Burmistrov to Buffalo for right-winger Drew Stafford.

"It's one of those things where at different points in time you're talking lots of different players with lots of different teams and different scenarios," said Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff. "This is the group that earned the opportunity to be battling at this point in time for a playoff position."

If that's a 2013 1st, that sounds like a good deal for Phoenix. Essentially 2 top 10 picks and 2 2nds for Yandle.

Hard to believe Gillies would turn that down given their cap situation next year.

the other half of bishop to philly, that murray declined in favor of the tampa offer, was rinaldo + 2nd round pick.

it's interesting looking at the three proposals

Jones + 2nd
Rinaldo + 2nd
Conacher + 4th

edmonton clearly didnt come prepared to the party. The other two teams are offering 22/23 yo roster players and edmonton is offering up a UFA.

Unless that + was a top-6 forward, then I am sure the deal was turned down from Philadelphia. I wouldn't offer that package for OEL.

Booth+Ballard= Cap space

IF that trade went through, Gillis would've been fired on the spot.
