With the way he's playing, I don't think there's a way Vey (heh) won't be on our roster to begin the 2013-2014 season. The AHL is too easy for him.

Now, it's well known he's most comfortable at Center. Would you guys be comfortable sliding Stoll down to 4C?

Next year:

Brown - Kopitar - Williams

FA - Richards - Carter

Lewis - Vey - Toffoli

Clifford - Stoll - King/Nolan/Fraser

The third line is our most consistent line so there is no reason to mess with what works. Stoll is not going to be a 4C making more than 3 million.

How do you see Vey fitting in (if at all)?

Fourth line and rotate him with Fraser. Sucks but I guess when the team is good, the only place to put prospects is on the 4th line. Quite a problem to have.

As others have said, I think Stoll stays on the 3rd line. Maybe we roll
Clifford - Stoll - Lewis/Toffoli

King/Nolan - Vey/Fraser - Toffoli/Lewis
??

That could be a ****ing dangerous 4th line with Vey in there!

BROWN-KOPITAR-TOFFOLI
WILLIAMS-RICHARDS-CARTER
KING-STOLL-LEWIS
CLIFFORD-FRASER/VEY-VEY/NOLAN

Toffoli is a top 6 and will stay there and if Pearson continues to shine he will be called up next season and maybe make williams expendable

Vey is a second line Center who can play 3rd lne if needed. I am afraid that he is a bit of a tweener at this point of his developmental curve. I would forge a line of Clifford/Vey/Lewis to start the kid off in the NHL. Gritty fast and reasonably responsible energy line.

Ideally though Vey would C a sniper on either wing and a grinder like he has in MCH (and the tigers). Give him a balanced line and that kid can become a star like I have said for a long while now.

Next up Pearson Kozun and Andy Andy if we don't get Kitsyn or one of the other kids before hand.

That's not going to happen. DL is not going to deal Williams in favor of Pearson after Pearson has spent just 1 season in the AHL. Maybe after 2 seasons, but definitely not after 1 season.

Can anyone tell me how ND is doing? I can't help but notice his minus 16. But then again, his 6'1 230 lbs kinda jumps out at me as well. Hoping he can make it with the kings by 2015-16 season.

Statistically speaking, Toffoli is the 3rd best player in the AHL while Vey is 11th, Pearson 33rd, and Kozun 44th. Amazing.

Any updates on the Kings signing players (Gibson, Miller, Shore, Forbort) sending them to Manchester? I know there was a rumor of signing Forbort? but there are others that need to be sign as well...

Need to be signed? No. We don't even HAVE to sign Miller but he's now too old for juniors. Mersch might go pro and I believe Dean wants him to as well. After St. Cloud HOPEFULLY wins the national title, Dowd and God...i mean Gravel might get contracts too. There's also guys like Schumacher that I don't think get contracts.

Lombardi hinted that a deal with Forbort was imminent. He also said he'd be talking with other NCAA players -- notably Shore and Mersch -- in the coming days. He can't talk to the SCSU players yet since they're still in the tournament. As for the CHL guys, no idea.

I don't see Vey replacing Stoll as our 3C, no matter how good he has been down in manch. Vey will be lucky if he gets the 4C with the kings. I'm thinking Vey will start out with manch and may get a call during the season. He's only been down there 2 seasons. There's really no rush for him to play with the kings imo.

Just out of curiosity, do you know how good Vey is with his faceoffs?

Monarchs lost tonight 4-2 to the Portland Pirates. Playoff hopes continue to look grim. Monarchs now 6 points out of the 8th spot with only 8 game remaining.

AHL Standings: http://theahl.com/stats/statdisplay....ason=&confId=0

(note: the AHL has a 76 game schedule)

Goals tonight from Weal and Bishop (echl call up).

Didn't see the game but from the highlights it looks like Kozun played a hell of a game. I like this kid's heart. He doesn't quite!

No he's not playing. Linden Vey isn't playing either. But, I don't know why. (Anyone know?)

And to top that off Andy Andreoff is tagged with a five minute major for elbowing just 52 seconds into the game and was tossed.

1-0 Bruins 5 minuutes into the 1st

That's odd.

Ken Cail (monarchs announcer) just said why..

Vey was hit in the face last night with the puck and that's why he's out.

Monarchs lost 4-3 to the Providence Bruins.

Despite the lose the Monarchs played a solid effort. Especially considering the Monarchs were without Vey and Andreoff. GREAT game from Kozun, Weal, Pearson, and Deslauriers. I'm becoming a big fan of Bradon Kozun the kid just gives 110% every night! I just don't know where he'd fit in the Kings line-up... The right wing is pretty backed up.

Obviously with the lost the playoff hopes get even more grim. But, despite the lack of team success this season. There has been some tremendous individual success from Linden Vey, Tyler Toffoli, and Brandon Kozun all who are among the top point producers in the AHL. I think Nick Deslauriers has taken a step forward this season. That's a gonna be a very strong man someday soon. Also, Jordan Weal who didn't get much ice time/playing time in the first half of the season has really shined in the 2nd half. He's been fantastic.

In other Monarch news Derek Forbort signed at ATO (amateur try out). I'd imagine this was done in order to avoid Forbort burning a year off his ELC. He'll wear #3 for the Monarchs.

I was thinking with Forbort signed and Roach likely coming to Manchester next season and also if Kevin Gravel signs.

The Monarchs defense is gonna be ****ing HUGE!

Campbell 6' 4"
Deslauriers 6' 1" (but 230 lbs )
Forbort 6' 5"
Roach 6' 4"
Gravel 6' 4"
