Too funny!

Too late Gillis, everyone knows you offered it and Toronto shot it down!

Yeah, don't think Bergevin would deal Nathan, Lars and a 1st for Pominville.

It's lose-lose for Gillis.

Even if Toronto offered Scrivens and two 2nd rounders, Gillis should be fired for not having made that deal.

Lose-lose.

Toward the end of the article. Here's the blurb about it:
Quote:
The Jets were reportedly talking to the Sabres about a deal that would send Alexander Burmistrov to Buffalo for right-winger Drew Stafford.

"It's one of those things where at different points in time you're talking lots of different players with lots of different teams and different scenarios," said Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff. "This is the group that earned the opportunity to be battling at this point in time for a playoff position."

Nonis is an idiot for turning that down IMO

Not a fan of Lu's contract, but at that price I can stomach it

That's pretty well known. What we're wondering is how someone went from that to this:

That's a pretty specific trade offer that I've never seen anywhere. Not doubting it happened or something very similar, but just want a source.

Already been noted he had no problem with the trade, it was that the Canucks refused to retain any salary.

So you're confirming that you pulled the whole Burmi + 2nd for Stafford and Jets rejected out of thin air then. All TSN said it that a deal was SPECULATED around those two, you've just admitted that you made up the original post.

EDIT: My bad it wasn't you. Whatever the original post about the deal was fabricated, that's enough for me.

He also wanted Vancouver to retain some of Luongo's salary according to The Team1260 Radio here in Edmonton while speaking with a source from Vancouver (can't remember who) and the Canucks said no, reportedly causing more friction between the two GM's

Put it this way, does this offer sound like something MIke Gillis will do? Canucks fans were already questioning that from the very beginning.
But the question is... Does this make it better or worse? I guess maintaining an image is better than goodwill with Luongo. If he did turn that down, Gillis is a huge idiot. That's a lot better return than he's going to get later.

Montreal doesn't have the depth that the Wild do in terms of prospects. However, where the op got it from would have been a very terrible source. Like a you, or me source that got bored one day and made a twitter account to fake trade rumours that pop into our heads.

Keeping him this season doesn't help anymore than having Scrivens on the bench. I doubt there is an offer that good in the offseason if he did turn it down it was a foolish move.

do a word find for stafford in the text---it comes up.

This deal has been a long time rumor of Stafford to WPG. It will likely resurface at the draft.

I think Caps made an offer for Erik Johnson of the Avs, but not sure what was offered.

Also, I think McPhee made Schultz available, but all 29 other GM's said they already had enough traffic cones.

Either the radio station was bluffing, or the deal was turned down.
I call ******** on that one unless the + was something significant which I doubt. An offer of Couturier, Read and a 1st would get it done. Even if the 1st was for 2014 I still think it gets done.

Do you mean in the comments? That's still not a source.

I agree, I proposed this quite a while ago. It may happen at the draft.

Lou Lamoriello said he got offers for prospects and veterans but didn't give any specifics.

Quote:
The Devils have some promising young players and prospects that other teams were interested in, but Lamoriello wasn’t willing to give them up. He also suggested that there were inquiries about some of his potential unrestricted free agents – a list that includes Patrik Elias, David Clarkson and Zubrus – but he wasn’t interested in breaking up this roster, which he feels “when at full strength” is good enough to win.
