Does anyone know if Moroz came back after he was taken into the boards? Rexall beers are making my memories hazy.
People use Dustin Brown as an Adam Erne comp a lot but I think it probably applies more to Lazar.

Cheek has apparently signed with Colorado. Still trying to get a media source as Cheek himself first tweeted it and it may be an April fools joke

Edit: oil kings official twitter tweeted it now so I guess it true, congrats Cheek!

Game 2 - Sun Apr 7 4:00 PM Medicine Hat at Edmonton
Game 3 - Tue Apr 9 7:00 PM Edmonton at Medicine Hat
Game 4 - Wed Apr 10 7:00 PM Edmonton at Medicine Hat

Shaw hasn't announced which series they'll carry yet. I'm guessing it'll be Calgary vs Red Deer. Just a guess though. Easy travel.

He just thrives in playoff-type situations.
Why was Brossoit looked over? OHL bias, that's why.

2-0 Oil Kings in the third. Goals by Kulda and Leagult.

Gernat picked up an assist on Kulda's goal, helping him keep his lead in scoring from defenseman.

edit:
Moroz pots one, but Med Hat responds with one from Becker. 3-1

edit:2

4-1 final, Ewanyk picks one up.

Just got back from the game, and what a game it was, especially from the three Oilers draft picks. The Moroz/Ewanyk/Kulda line got 3 of the 4 goals, and all of them were scored off of hard work down low in the offensive zone. Gernat looked very sharp as well. I will be more than pleased to see Moroz and Ewanyk wearing the Oilers' colours in a year or two.

^So he is! I forgot because I was still busy thinking about Ewanyk and Moroz. Even if Moroz was drafted a little too high, I still think he'll be a great addition to the Oilers in the future.

Was at the game at Rexall yesterday. The checking line of Kulda, Ewanyk and Moroz was fantastic at both ends of the ice, completely shutting down the Tiger's dynamic pairing of Shinkaruk and Valk and chipping in three goals. Musil played a very nice defensive game as well.

As an aside, did anyone watch the Saskatoon series on Shaw? I would be curious to know if the Hat played out of their minds or if the Blades simply stunk up the joint.

Overall a great blue collar start for the Kings in this series. Could we be headed on a collision course with Calgary to set up the inaugural WHL Battle of Alberta playoff matchup?

The Ewanyk/Moroz duo is really effective, whether it was with Wilson, Kulda or whomever.
They can be the best line on the ice any given night. All hustle, damn hard to play against.

OK up 2-0 after winning the second game 2-0.

Good start to the series.

Playing in MH will be tougher, but if they get a split in the next two, series should be ours.

LB playing well!

Had a down game (how crazy is it when you can say a team had a down game and still look like they could win against most teams in the league). Top two lines had some issues creating chances (especially in the second) and the fourth line got hemmed in their own zone more often then usual. Also took lots of bad penalties which is unusual.

The reason they are up 2-0 right now is the Ewanyk/Moroz/Kulda line along with Brossoit. That line has allowed Shinkaruk and Valk to create absolutely nothing offensively and Brossoit has made the big saves when the defence has been bad.

Brossoit is 6-1, with 3 SO and only 5 GA in 7 games. That. Is. Ridiculous!

You don't have to call it an OHL bias.. They could have made the wrong decision without bias. The team has taken Tokarski/Pickard as a tandem before in Ottawa so I wouldn't say I necessarily agree with that. Martin Jones was also in Saskatoon. Just a plain old misevaluation, I wouldn't put a bias on it necessarily..

Anything Prendergast touches turns to ****. He is the anti-Midas.

Oil Kings were not good at all yesterday save for Brossoit. The second period was probably the worst period of hockey I have seen out of the team all year. Keegan Lowe lost his mind.

This is the second game I have seen in the playoffs where a coach has chewed out the officials for non-calls, which was immediately followed by a cascade of favourable calls for the team whose coach did the berating.

Pretty bush league if you ask me.

Agree with this, but Lowe did not do us any favors either but being a retard out there on ice at some points in the second. What was most embarrassing was our first shot in the 2nd came 15 minutes in

I thought it was 16 minutes in but ya, pretty gross. Lowe last night reminded me of Lowe from the beginning of the year. Zero discipline. He had pretty much worked that out of his game but it came back in a big way last night.

A panel on Team 1260 this morning were supporting Lowe as the team MVP. They said he's been going after Hunter Shinkaruk at every opportunity to put him off his game. The panel (which included radio colour man Kent Simpson) are loving Lowe's style of play. I thought he took too many penalties, but they didn't cost the team with a goal. They compared Keagan's play to his dad's with the grittiness.

On another note, of the three-member panel, two predicted an OKs sweep, and the third predicted that the teams split the game in the Hat.
