I live in Erie and just about walk everywhere but to the grocery and liquor stores. Street parking in front of my apartment can be a ***** though because in winter months you can only park on the North side of the street on even days and the South side on odd days. Then in the spring and summer months, on Mondays you can only park on the North side and on Wednesdays you can only park on the South side.

Luckily, I convinced my old roommate to give me his garage spot. He drove to work and I walked, so it just made sense. Problem solved.

Oh! Sorry. haha

Yeah, I'm a university student and it was one of the guys in the class. Apparently, he has done it in other classes, but I still had mixed feelings.

huh, thats interesting. If anyone in my classes ever cheated, I didn't notice. Now I'm a teacher and its amazing that students don't always notice that I've made two versions of a test

Yeah, it is definitely not pretty in the winter. Spring and summer, though, are awesome. Too bad that only lasts 5ish months of the year. Also, I live not too far from that area.

ya I was half kidding. I like it up there when its not buried in snow. Lots of cheap or even free things to do up there.

My least favorite day of the year. Got away with spending a little over $300 this year and counted myself lucky.

mine was about 1400. I moved to a state that doesn't require inspections a month later.

doing a rewatch of the first season of Mad Men and i noticed something disconcerting. in episode six of the first season near the 36:00 minute mark Joan says "Well, you know what they say: the medium is the message."

that well-known phrase was coined by media theorist Marshall McLuhan and i don't believe it became part of the public lexicon until the publication and wide success of his book, Understanding Media: The Extensions of Man in 1964. however, all reports indicate that he first season of Mad Men takes place in 1960. is this an anachronistic error or perhaps a wink-n-a-nod moment of prescience for Joan? i doubt it's the later as to my knowledge she shows no proclivity for media studies, unlike say Harry Crane.

it's deeply troubling and i don't know if i'll ever be able to look past this. next week i'll be sure to double check all the chemical reactions scribbled on the whiteboard in Walter White's classroom.

of course you can't make a Marshall McLuhan reference without including this immortal clip.

I came to a realization today

I don't use my phone that often. And when I do, it's more out of boredom than necessity. Texting at work, maybe check in here from work while slacking.

My Galaxy S2 bit it this morning. Pretty much out of nowhere. It's under warranty, so getting a free replacement...in 5 days! It's on backorder.

I can't find my prior phone (original Galaxy), so have my mom's old Samsung flip phone for about a week now. And it's driving me crazy. Never realized how dependent I was on my phone.
