Yeah I did an edit on one of the above posts, my bad I thought it was you throwing out the exact offer. Sorry.

Point is, while it sounds like there were discussions, we really have no idea exactly what was offered by whom...

it doesn't help them win the game if Luongo is sitting on the bench, but going into the playoffs I'd rather Luongo sitting on the bench ready to step in during the playoffs if Schneider doesn't play well compared to Scrivens. For the remainder of the season, having Luongo helps and the team can focus on winning the stanley cup. After the playoffs, one of schneider or Luongo has to get traded to avoid all the distractions again next year.

it's interesting looking at the three proposals

Jones + 2nd
Rinaldo + 2nd
Conacher + 4th

edmonton clearly didnt come prepared to the party. The other two teams are offering 22/23 yo roster players and edmonton is offering up a UFA.
I will try to find the source but reportedly the young roster player being asked from edmonton was either paavarji or gagner.

If Gillis is only worried about this season it is fairly foolish, also I don't think Scrivens is much of a down grade this year.

I understand if it was Paajarvi but if it was Gagner they were asking for and with the way he's been playing, I'm sure Edmonton would have said "Well Kyle Turris better be coming with Bishop then"

An Oilers fan should understand this, you guys lost a Stanley Cup off of a goalie injury.

There is no way PHX turns that down unless the + was OEL

I think a more realistic + would be Philly asking for Martin Hanzal, essentially making it:

Couterier
Read
1st
2nd

for

Yandle
Hanzal

Can't see Phoenix doing that

Was it verified that Philly offered 2 x 2nd Rounders for Jagr?

In light of what Pomminville got and how scarce top pairing PMDs always are,how is it unreasonable to ask for Couturier + 1st + 2nd for Yandle? That sounds about right.
Basically any plus that is worth mentioning would make up for Read. He has one year left on his valuable small cap hit and once he gets paid, he is a player you can get dozens of in UFA every year.

Nonis said the Leafs had a few good offers for Bozak and Mac, but they elected to keep them both.

I'm willing to bet Chevy just wanted to give picks for Stafford, and not Burmi.

I'm not trying to be a dick here, but are you saying Couturier, Read, and a 1st is fair value, but if you add a 2nd round pick, Phoenix sends back a significant piece? Why is the 2nd rounder the straw that breaks the camels back? If anything I would think it would be Read, or the 1st.

Khokhlachev + 2nd for Brenden Morrow

2 2nds for Jaromir Jagr (Either Montreal or Philly)

Possible Prospect (Moore?) + LA 1st for Jagr (was rejected simply out of respect to Jagr)

Montreal made us an offer for Raffi Torres, though I don't know what it was.

We took San Jose's offer instead.

That would have been the worst trade of the deadline.

And if Philly offered that, which I doubt, Phoenix would be brain dead to not accept that deal.

Tampa and Ottawa are in the same division next year. Probably had something to do with Tampa having such a better offer.

There's also speculation that Ottawa wanted Yandle, but Phoenix asked for a deal based around Bishop and Zibanejad.

That deal----I have to know what the + was from PHX besides Yandle.

If the deal was Yandle for Courturier, Read, and a 1st in 2013---If i was Phoenix I would have taken that offer in a heartbeat. That 1st would likely be a 10-12 pick---if not higher.

PHX has a few top Dmen propsects in their system who would be definite top 4 type Dmen. Yandle would be easily replaceable.

Boston had submitted an offer for Ryan Whitney, but Edmonton elected not to trade him. Nobody knows specifically what the offer was.
