Speed-devil with lots of talent...maybe he'll be a mix of Gallagher, Ryder and Parise.
Our top 9 depth just got better!!
Seems like we've waited forever for Danny ''frostbite'' Kristo...might be worth the wait! If he has 1/2 the heart/courage/grit/spunk of Brendan ''all-heart'' Gallagher...he will be a real good one (and what speed!).
Hmmm if Moen is playing top 6 we are beyond worst case Ontario. Kristo will get his chance, but not just yet.
The above is just worst case nightmare scenario (Pleks, Pacioretty, Bourque...all out).
The above lineup is just an example...no 1st line...3 balanced lines, imo. Anyways...we just have to cross our fingers so Pleks, Pacioretty, Bourque, Diaz...will all be 100% (or very close to it) for playoffs.
Sorry for being slightly off topic but can someone explain why the "Justin Schultz loophole" was not addressed in the new CBA allowing guys like Kristo to possibly becoming a UFA this fall.
Also, as a result, wouldn't drafting players who are playing in the NCAA be a high risk in the same way drafting certain Russian players as high risk because the player might end up on another team (another league)?
The "loophole" doesn't apply to Kristo, it applies to Mac Bennett this off-season and next year it will apply to Mark MacMillan. The only thing I heard was that the league wanted to do something about it but the players wanted it stay this way.
The loophole only applies to NCAA players that don't go directly to the NCAA, so not all NCAA players are subject to the loophole. As an example current Hab draft picks in the NCAA like Walsh, Cichy and Didier would not be able to use the loophole since they went directly to the NCAA after being drafted. Bennett, MacMillan and Sullivan all can use this loophole because they didn't go to the NCAA directly after being drafted.
