Ryane Clowe's new contract

i think he will resign with Rangers, they payed a big price for him and if he continues how he started, what do you guys/girls except he will want?

I mean, i would want to have him on the rangers for more seasons, but if he is a guy that wants 5m+ he could forget it, what do you think?

I'm hoping for nothing more than 4 years 16 million. Would be amazing if we could sign him at his current cap hit though.

Sather will sign him 6 years for 32 million. Then will trade him later for a top prospect that turns into a very good NHLer.

As a sharks fan I wish Clowe all the best, but if any of the reports of him wanting 5mil a year for 5 years is true then I don't see 4 mil a year as a possibility only because someone will pay that.

Rangers might overpay, because Clowe's shooting percentage is already regressing to mean. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets red hot.

If we get an extension done before free agency we have a shot to sign him cheaper, but if he holds out to test the market his price is going to skyrocket.

I fully expect 4.5m a season, for 5-6 years. It's not really what he's worth, but probably what he'll get (so I guess that's what he's worth...).

Problem with Clowe is mental. He will get into these periods of getting so worked up into his head about not scoring that he won't score. Went 45 games one season, now again (though this time injury played a big part). He's just streaky as hell basically.

I dont think rangers will overpay, they need some space to resign with key players and maybe splash some cash on depth next FA, 4m for 4 years would be dream

Anything over 4mil is an overpayment. 4mil for 4-5 years is fair.

$4.5 million for 4 or 5 years.

If he reaches free agency, he'll get $5-6 million from someone.

Feaster has made it obvious he is going after FA's this off season. I could see him throwing out a overpriced offer.

Depends on how well he does down the stretch and how far he helps the Rangers get.

I mean if he were to get red hot here and help the Rangers get back to the ECF that $5M won't be out of this world.

Of course I'd like to have him back for less than that but we'll see

He wants to stay in New York.

Everyone knows he won't get more than Callahan.

4mil max

I was pretty hammered when I read this so if I got it completely wrong I apologize. I am pretty sure I remember reading that SJS management essentially gave Clowe his pick of where he wanted to go. Now I am not sure why he would pick a borderline playoff team unless he intended on resigning there...

Also, there is no way Clowe gets more than Callahan. Maybe equal amounts but no way he gets more.

This is exactly what I think he's worth. With the Shark's cap situation it would have been hard to go over 4 mil. 4.5 would have been more like it and still a 'discount' in this market.
If Rangers can lock him up for under 5 mil @ 3-5years they should be really happy.

There must have been something going on behind the scenes the last few months, I am glad he got a change of scenery.
2nd, conditional 2nd and Torres for Clowe is pretty damn good value as well.

If Montreal re-signs Ryder I wouldn't be surprised to see Clowe sign with the Habs for 4 years at a little over $4 million per year.
