That guy is way more ambitious than I am. I'm only tracking the Ducks, and assuming they are pretty much a lock for the playoffs.

Oh, don't exaggerate. It's only about the same.

I can't wait for the backlash/abuse I receive for being present at the first Ducks loss I join you guys for...said no one ever .

What will go unmentioned is the fact that I helped bring you guys out of your slump and that I correctly predicted that Getzy would be alright and return in the same game, after he left the ice injured.

Well, if you're looking for ways to decrease the pressure we put on you - that ain't the way of doing so.

BB said he's sore but should be ok.

He went to locker room the 2nd time as a precaution as the game was beyond doubt after he scored

He shouldn`t be.

He wend down awkwardly on the ice, and Ducks played few shifts without him, but he then came back, beat Goligoski with a fancy move, but was denied by Lehtonen (duh) and then scored a backhander from ridiculous Pears pass.

That came of an offside play haha but still what a pass and what a backhander. Getzlaf is a beast. This season he's been the best forward in the Western Conference IMO. Kane may be equal/slightly ahead offensively but Getzlaf has a huge advantage in his own end and physically.

Are you sure? BB said the best play of the night was Perry putting himself back onside on that play. Surely he wouldn't lie to us would he?

Not entirely but it looked offside to me every time I watched it. But if Boudreau said it wasn't then it probably is true. He's always been 100% honest and accurate about injury evaluations after all

Perry actually wasnt offsides. He caught the blueline by a hair. The Dallas feed showed it pretty good.

The skate has to be all the way back over the blue line, not just on it. The blue line counts as being the same zone as where you are when you touch it (still outside the zone skating in and still inside the zone skating out). If he just touched it, he was offside.

On the grainy feed I was watching the game on, it looked like he straddled the blue line. But just watched replay and yeah it looked offsides. He was clearly in the zone.

Quote:
83.3 Delayed Off-Side – A situation where an attacking player (or players) has preceded the puck across the attacking blue line, but the defending team is in a position to bring the puck back out of its defending zone without any delay or contact with an attacking player, or, the attacking players are in the process of clearing the attacking zone.
If an off-side call is delayed, the Linesman shall drop his arm to nullify the off-side violation and allow play to continue if:
(i) All players of the offending team clear the zone at the same instant (skate contact with the blue line) permitting the attacking players to re-enter the attacking zone, or
(ii) The defending team passes or carries the puck into the neutral zone.
It doesn't say both skates and doesn't specify that he has to go completely across it. Just contact with the blue line

Maybe it's just the puck that rule applies to then about the blue line. I'd been under th impression it was for all applications of offside.

Yea you just have to be touching the blue line. Watching the Dallas feed they had a really good shot, he just barely touched up and went over, how the linesman spotted it I am not sure.

The puck needs to be completely across, but the player just needs to be touching the line.

It's always been that way for the puck (must be completely over in either direction), and I too thought it applied to the players on a delayed call. Apparently not.

Well, now that I've learned something for the day I guess I can goof of the rest of the evening.
