Since '94, apparently.

The broadcast is ridiculously biased every time we play the Pens on NBC.

Don't really know what else to say but it's extremely obvious to me.

He got his ring as a Ranger, but hardly ever saw the ice. 37 regular season games, 1 playoff game. Maybe he's bitter about that, who knows?

NBC spent the entire period painting the Pens as some 20-year old powerhouse franchise and the Rangers as their little cousin or something. It was rediculous.

Well, winning draft lotteries doesn't make a dynasty... Pens will always be Bettman's little *****

The only real connection I have to the '94 team is Barry Meisel's Losing the Edge. According to that, Olczyk was treated pretty poorly by Keenan along with all the other Black Aces.

The only thing about the broadcast that really bugged me is how they kept going on and on and on and on and on about the Pens injuries - 1) because it seemed like they were downplaying the best down the Rangers gave them and 2) because they didn't ONCE mention the fact that the Rangers' best d-man was also out.

Yeah, the peasants are idiots. We get it.

Anyway, you could really compile a list, but just a few things I noticed.

- droning on and on about the Pen's injuries, new players acclimating, how the Pens are the highest scoring team - Rangers the lowest, Geno's mom's borscht soup (about as excited as they all got during the broadcast) and not even following the play while the Rangers scored at least two goals....

But this is what we all love about the NHL. It's like listening to all the nerds in high school worshiping the cool kids in the hipster click. Insular like no other sport. I've grown to love it.

The comment by Eddie O about Keenan was over the top-unprofessional IMHO.

As a broadcaster, it's your duty to bring insight and be informative, without a bias or agenda. Fail. Big time. I don't care what Keenan did to you. It was inappropriate and uncomfortable and I hope his producer lit him up after it.

100% Agreed.

What did Edzo say? You would've thought he would be grateful to the organization he won a cup ring with for being a cheerleader. I guess having a failed coaching tenure is more gratifying than a cup for this biased tool.

He essentially said not a single Ranger learned anything from Keenan and that they all despised him. He aired his dirty laundry on national television.

He said they didn't learn anything about the power play from Keenan because he didn't teach it. And if you expect anything but Anti-ranger announcing from chico's former butt buddy, that weasely Emrick you haven't been paying attention. He's the one who couldn't stop making excuses for the Hens.

That is not what he said at all. He was asked if he would take a page out of the old Keenan playbook for the PP and his response was he wouldn't take anything from Keenan for any reason and he was speaking from experience.

When it comes to the NHL, be it "insiders", pundits, commentators, league or team officials, two things are made abundantly clear.

- The New York Rangers being a strong franchise helps the league, the opposite hurts.

- Fact that the above is true fuels resentment towards the Rangers. That manifests itself in numerous ways including favoritism towards other teams and occasional out right hostility.
