I think Nazem Kadri is going to be better than Tyler Seguin both offensively and defensively in the future.

Kadri has shown that he has the mental fortitude and willingness to battle physically that will carry him forward into stardom, IMO. I usually shy away from such predictions but Nazem possesses the qualities that make it hard to ignore his wonderful potential.

Right now, Kadri is the better player.

This could change, but I believe most GM's would take Kadri right now, he is outproducing Seguin and has a better skill set to go along with that.

That's debatable.

Kadri is the better player these last 35 games. That is easy to admit. But it's what I keep preaching in this thread- SAMPLE SIZE. Seguin was one of the hottest players going for a stretch last year. He simmered down a bit. Not saying Kadri definitely will, but it won't be unusual if he does.

I feel like I have been explicitly clear here.

And that is not even the crux of the debate
I know it's not important to the argument, you're wrong though.

Kadri plays like a Canadian... Seguin plays with less grit and toughness than him despite being bigger and in the toughest team in the league.

Down the line IMO..

Kadri>Seguin>Kessel

Hamilton vs Rielly is yet to be seen.
out of those three guys, kessel is and will continue to be the one who commands the most attention from the other team's #1 DMan. Being able to skate down the ice all game around 40km/h let's that happen.

Kadri, and I'm a leaf hater.

For once, let a player show he's better than another by getting more points, hmmm?

Tired of this same song and dance...

Seguin moved to Center

Just a FYI for all of the people who picked Kadri "because he's a Center".

Seguin will be playing Center starting tonight. His wingers will be Jagr & Marchand.

I like how one game in three years somehow makes up for that... get over it... he's not a regular NHL center and after three years the odds of him being one are low.. he is what he is... a skilled but ultra soft winger...

Unless that makes Seguin play with the same physical edge that Kadri has I still take Kadri.

Great, so if Seguin starts getting hot, we can credit Jagr.

Just to keep a fair perspective, wasn't Kadri playing as a winger in the AHL when he was Seguin's current age...because Boston has depth at center, I think it's premature to dismiss Seguin as a potential center.

six 0 point games, one 1 point game, and one 3 point game in the last 8 is pretty hot?

He's lined up at center in the past as well, just never had a permanent role there with the likes of Bergeron and Krejci in the top 6.

Seguin is getting to be very good defensively, and is at least as good offensively as Kadri. And ultra soft? He may shy away from throwing hits but that doesn't make him "soft". Kessel is soft. That is an example of soft.

Post this on the Leafs forum if you just want people to complement Kadri, because your destroying his reputation.

ahahah
over the last few years
-to skinny
-to fat
-puck hog
-soft
-not strong enough on his skates
-horrible in his own end
-never play center in the NHL
-can't make the one the worst teams in the league
-Most obvious Bust

Can't think of a prospect with a worse reputation over the 3 years.

Kadri is a hell of a lot better than I ever thought he was going to be ,but this poll would be better next season Imo. But watching Kadri he has a lot of uspide still but at same time teams will start spending more tape time on him . Kadri I will think will be a ppg player or better during his peak seasons very impressive kid. And Seguin is still very young and unfinished in upskill as well.

Seguin a good player, slightly overrated.

Kadri is a very unique player we haven't seen the likes of before. Critics are still reserving judgment to give him strong credit even after his (shortened) break-out season. For this reason he is underrated.

But, from what I've seen though Kadri has a higher skill set and potential than Seguin. And when Kadri is "on" he is the more dazzling player to watch.

Some might criticize Kadri's slow start to the play offs but without him there is no game 6 win and no OT in game 7 for Toronto. He can be a huge impact player for the Leafs. Not as sure about Seguin, I put at least 5 Bruins ahead of him for being big game difference makers.

I was leaning towards Seguin before the playoffs. I know it's a small sample size and Kadri didn't exactly light the world on fire in the Bruins series but the fact that Seguin was virtually invisible and shied away from contact (while Kadri looked for it) makes me rethink my position.

Kadri slowed down at the tail end of the season but he still showed why he can be a special player. Even when he's not producing, he's physical and can lay the boom at any time. He can really change the momentum with his gritty play and Seguin is closer to Kessel in that regard.

Both are good players. I'm just happy that Kadri is being mentioned in the same sentence as Seguin after all the criticism that he's been through since being drafted. Glad the Leafs held on to the kid.
