Didn't seem to have much trouble last year with 41 goals and 76 points, was a +15 and blocked 40 shots, more than Crosby, Toews, and Sedin

So why did they trade him? He and Torts didnt always see eye to eye....despite Gaboriks production although in the playoffs he wasnt as productive and this year wasnt either.

Gaborik also said after the trade "it's good to be on a team that actually wants you" or something along those lines. So obviously something was going on.

Yup. It's telling that something happened between Torts and Gaborik I'm assuming.

I agree. I'm actually shocked he put up those numbers, because he often looked out of place at times; definitely the odd man out on the roster and in the system. It says a lot for his skill that he produced anyways.

Edit: While he still had a good amount of blocked shots, he still had the least among all forwards on NYR who played 82 games. Considering his ice time, you just know that must have rankled Torts a bit.

I'm just glad that he can now go back to being one of my favorite players haha.

Gaborik was always a favorite of mine while he was with the wild.

I'm not hearing good news bout #penguins Sidney Crosby. Being told he is likely out for rest of season with concussion symptoms
Source: Howard Eskin @howardeskin

Howie's usually got good sources with the Flyers but I don't know about this one. If true I'm not surprised sucks for the Pens. Even though I can't stand him as a player I don't want to see anyone go through that.

I hope it's not true; that's terrible news for the NHL if it is.

Edit: terrible for Crosby, too, obviously.

Do you think such "trauma" (pain from jaw break running through the brain) could be as devastating trigger as when Pronger got hit to the eye after the concussion..?

Apparently concussion symptoms are very common with injuries to the jaw. That's why I said I wasn't surprised if true especially when you consider his history of concussions. I don't know how much Howard knows about this because its kind of out of his element.

Most of the Pittsburgh media is calling bs on Eskin's tweet. I'm guessing Howard needed something to do until he can't start complaining about the Phillies and their front office this season.

How does Crosby compare to Lindros regarding where they were in their career and the outcome of their concussions if Crosby is shut down? Seems very comparable, two of the most dominant, if not the most dominant, centers in the game go down early due to concussions.

I like how most of them are tweeting him asking him to retract that report. I guess they're not familiar with him. The day he admits he's wrong on something will be the first.

Pretty damn similar up to 470 career games, both already been concussed, and Lindros almost dying in late 98-99, he reached 470 in Jan 2000.
Lindros: 470 281 363 645 1.372
Crosby: 470 238 427 665 1.414

Contrary to rumors that are out there, Sidney Crosby does not have any concussion symptoms, his agent Pat Brisson says. Ray Shero says same

I hope Crosby does have a concussion, not because i have anything against him, only so Eskin can just troll Twitter some more about being right. Feed the ego Howie, feed it!

As much as I can't stand Crosby as a hockey player. He's still a human being. I hope he doesn't get a concussion from this.

As for Howard the guys a moron. Him being wrong on something is a lot more funny than him being right on something. I honestly can't stand Eskin. The guy is a hack that thinks he's god gift to the world.

Yeah, usually in hockey you see 'hockey fights'..

That looked like Kane was legitimately trying to beat his ass.

I know it's a sick obsession, but Bob just looks so good now. Before he looked like an athlete trying to stop pucks. He looks like a composed goaltender now. He's been slick.
