I can see Calgary and Florida picking a forward.

I don't think Jones is close to being a lock for 1st overall.

The Rangers are still in 9th place in the East right now, regardless of games in hand. You can't just assume the Rangers are going to win both, so I have no idea what you would've liked them to do.

I just can't imagine any team that actually scouted halifax could possibly take mackinnon over drouin.

All of those teams would take Seth Jones.
MacKinnon.

Totally thought this would be a thread where forumers called each other out for not wanting to pick Jones.

I LOVE Drouin and prefer him in a vacuum any day but as a Ranger fan we'd take MacKinnon AINEC. We need a center to take over after we buy out Richards. We are set at wing currently as we have 7/8 wingers that can reasonably play top 6.

Using that logic, how come waivers in the NHL goes by points percentage instead of current standings?

A smart team who knows you don't draft defenseman first overall.

When the Oilers miss the playoffs by 1 point we will proceed to win the lottery and select Seth Jones 1st overall

Jones still reminds me of Johnson so I would go forward just because defense is harder to judge IMO.

As an Oiler fan I want the Flames to take Jones as well. They should take MacKinnon or Barkov though

Phoenix finally uses the draft to get an offensive superstar. No Jones for them.

Did you read the poll itself?

You could vote for both or neither, and it would have nothing to do with their positions in the standings.

I wonder, if Columbus ended up having the first pick, just for the sake of argument, would they trade down to say maybe three and just eat this draft alive?

The Jets are probably the only team. Their blueline is so stacked that they might put Buff up front at forward once Trouba is ready for top 4 minutes.

rangers arent a basement team but im not sure if we would take him. we have a franchise C need and although our D is young and talented we lack RHD and especially a D that can provide offense which seth jones checks off for both. It would really come down to which player our scouts liked more between Jones and MacKinnon.
