Why would they want to trade Brodie? He's only 22 and will be, at minimum, a good second-pairing puck-mover. Isn't that the kind of player you want to keep for a rebuild? Is 22 over the hill now?

he loves where he lives & has lifestyle/family ties to the area. Probably made it clear to Flames that he had no desire/intention to waive the clause, and in this case they were smart enough not to leak it out to the media that they wanted to move him but couldn't b/c of him.

You don't know who Brodie is do you?

Not a chance this is true. It's just Feaster running his mouth, as usual.

Same team that states they will never tank, are making the playoffs next year and got the best player in the draft in the 20's.

Feaster is such a confused human being. There were probably 10-15 teams but in his mind the whole league contacted him. Just like Calgary are going to be in the playoffs next season, it's all in his fat 25 double chins head .

When have they actively tried to lose? They said try to make the playoffs all teams try to make the playoffs not to mention Edwards is a moron. Yea no player selected in the 20's was the best player of his draft year.

Thanks flameaholic, because there wasn't enough Flames ridicule all over the boards already.

The Flames have no need to trade Glencross, he's a great player on a great contract.

All 30 teams called. His own assistant called to ask about Glencross. He's that good, son. Trust me I know the org really well.

Makes sense, he's a physical top 6 winger making 2.5M a year. Teams would be stupid if they didn't at least ask.

When they traded all of their best players for picks.

Don't act like the flames aren't tanking just because they aren't shooting the puck into their own net.

They sucked well before the deadline. If they were really tanking they would call up their ahl team. They simply suck.

You don't trade your franchise player away for picks if you aren't tanking.

I'm still annoyed that Lowe didn't think Glencross was worth the money when he was with Edmonton. I don't care so much that he went to Calgary, but damn that was a boneheaded decision.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, by the way.

Meh.. Feaster exaggerates, and on the other hand it isn't such a stretch to believe either.

Glencross is very good value, and is the type of player that is very flexible in a lineup. I would bet most (if not all) teams would take him with everything considered.

As for the 'untouchables' - Flames are simply not going to 'burn it to the ground'. They identified who they want to keep in their lineup moving forward to help with the transition. Maybe they feel teams will not value those pieces as much as the Flames do? Perhaps it is just a way to drive up the value before the draft? Who knows...

Brodie, however, should be 'untouchable'. He has been pretty effective given his age. Definitely a keeper. Why would rebuilding teams trade players in their under 22 anyways (except if they are a problem, which Brodie is definitely not). I would put Backlund in there personally as well.

In that case Glencross must have a damn good agent. Not many agents have enough pull to convince 25 GM's to do him a favour and get his client off that disaster of a franchise.

If he hasn't changed much since his time with the Lightning I wouldn't believe anything Feaster says. Every deadline it was the same story where 29 teams contacted him for a certain player only to be rebuffed by Feaster. Ryan Craig and Filip Kuba were two players who got the league wide attention.

If there were 25 teams going after a good but not great player on a team clearly in a rebuild, I have a hard time believing Feaster. He does kinda talk out of his ass.

I don't imagine teams were offering anything huge. Plus we still need bodies on the roster, and Glencross is a cheap cheap cap hit. I'm happy they didn't get rid of him.

Saying they are not tanking is just BS. Trade Iginla, Bouwmeester etc. Hehe.
