Third. Not sure if canucks.com is updated, but he'd be third/fourth.

Really want to pull up JS, think he could learn a lot dorm Roy. Like the chemistry he and Higgins had.

I see during a shift or two you might see Roy on Kesler's wing. Some analyst was saying whether you want an injury-riddled Kesler to play so close to the boards where you'll get banged and crashed.
That's a reason why Kesler shouldn't be on the wing
On the other hand, you don't want to give him too many responsibilities just coming back from injury, so maybe putting him on the wing where he doesn't have to shoulder that much defensive responsibility is more ideal.

Kesler needs to be on the wing. He looks like Steve Bernier compared to Roy.

the only thing I'm worried about for a cup run is if at least one guy on D gets injured (which let's face it, is going to happen), it can all go to hell pretty easily, IMO.

Same thing you can say about every team. There's nothing we can do about it. It happens.

I think there are definitely teams who have better #7-8 options.

But yeah, it's a little greedy. If we just kept a guy like Rome, this team would be exactly how I would want it to be to some extent though.

There is no team in the league who would be comfortable with their #7-8 options in place of one of their top-4 d-man.

I'm surprised Vandermeer hasn't gotten a shot yet.

I like him better than Alberts...

Heard he's been bad in the AHL. Maybe he'd play better when brought up though.

How the hell did you read that in what I said?

There are definitely teams with more passable depth guys beyond the top 6, IMO. Including last year's version of this team. Can't expect a perfect team, though.

SKILL... he has skill and hockey sense and great passing ability. Exactly what this team has needed.

Unfortunately I see him opting for UFA (which is totally understandable for a guy in his position) but it'd be great if they could retain him. I just don't know if they'll be able to afford what may be the #1 C on the market (assuming Ribeiro stays in WAS). Perhaps the Canucks can use the pending leaguewide cap crunch to their advantage though.
The cap crunch will help, so will Roy's size. Small players are notoriously undervalued league wide. I would be surprised if 5-6 years, $25-30mil doesn't get it done. Steep price to pay but worth it for the secondary scoring he would provide.

The guy is flat out a 1st line centreman. There's no argument to be made otherwise looking at his career to date. He's all production and always has been.

I'm rooting for Roy as much as the next guy, and I definitely did see a good amount of potential, but I wasn't blown away by Roy.

It seemed like he wasn't even trying that hard at times, but I could be wrong. Made a couple questionable decisions. I'm not ragging on him at all -- he's new needs to develop chemistry.

IMO, good start, but I think he's got a lot more to bring later.

He looks like what we all hope Schroeder will be within a couple years.

As much as I would love to see Roy on a line with Kesler, it isn't happening. Not this year atleast. Gillis was unable to find another center at the right price so we need Roy centring the "third line" unless you want Schroeder there. I love Shredder, but I don't think he is ready yet.

Playmaker with sweet hands, excellent vision, above average wheels and good down low in his own end. Chemistry with Higgins and Hansen look good. What we didn't need is a defensive minded, shutdown center. Good pick up MG. We could make some noise this spring if everyone gets healthy and plays up to their potential.

Need the sun to come out so he decides this is a good city to play in. If it keeps raining we're in trouble.

schroeder is currently a better, more productive and effective player than tom sestito, and will probably be up for the playoffs

I thought Roy was pretty good tonight. I think when Kesler comes back that will be his big test.
