While a rational human being would think that Kane would be fined or suspended for that play, this is the NHL, where Greg Campbell can hit Tom Pyatt in the face with a hard plastic elbow pad REPEATEDLY and get no sanction.

Oh god. I never understand this mindset of trying to lowball a player like that. If PK plays like a Norris, MB will be more than happy to sign him for what he's worth when time comes. MB stuck to principles and in business, you need to follow some principles if you want to command respect and credibility. Also, it's very important that the same "rules" apply to everyone. That contributes to the team spirit. You don't make an exception because this is PK Subban.

Also, has anyone ever thought that maybe by giving Subban less than he "deserved", it motivated him to proove to management that he was willing to learn, apply to their rules and most of all show them why he deserves star quality money? Maybe it's the thriving force that's making Subban play at a Norris Level quality right now....
Who knows, maybe if we would have given him the long term deal, he wouldn't think he had to change at all, and he might not have progressed at the level he did so far this year.

Yeah though I think it shouldn't have taken so long to sign P.K.
I would be more than happy to sign P.K. at 10 million per year if hes worth that much then. I know P.K. would bring his A+ game all the time I just hope they don't try to low ball him again next year cuz THAT would be a piss off BIG TIME.

You need to recognize a Superstar when you see one = P.K. Subban
....Same goes for Bubbles = errr nvm I won't risk it this time

Pretty much as expected. He shows some decent ability to outlet the puck out of the zone, even under pressure. For a 3rd pairing D, he's doing just fine. As i said at the time of the trade, Drewiske is like a refined version of Pateryn.

And meanwhile some Leaf fans are already hating on O'Byrne

Can't believe how I read that some people here wanted O'Byrne over Drewiske too

i love gally's wide stance. it's agressive. and i can't remember what other prominent players of the past he reminds me of, but it keeps him planted, and allows him to shift quickly to the left and the right with body weight transfer and moving his torso. he can essentially push off into either direction with more ease. reminds me of a shark swimming about to attack. looks twitchy and unpredictable to the adversary. someone mentioned that stance was more common to soviet players of the era.

Absolutely. There is a play in juniour where he is in the middle of the ice in opposition zone setting up a play, he goes into the stance, looks to pass it to the wing, but at the last moment dangles into the slot, then passes it off to the wing. Wish I had a video but it was a thing of beauty. I hope he stays at center.

Great game last night for the most part. Really happy for Galchenyuk to get that goal, you could see the excitement (and probably relief) He's been working so hard, so it's nice to see him rewarded.

Eller certainly stepping in nicely for Plekanec. He could become such a complete player with size, speed and strength. He'll need to become more consistent but the tools are most definitely there.

Good to see someone call him out on it. He probably trashes the Habs and Habs' fans more than anyone else on this site. He comes in here acting like an innocent little child...**** that.

Anyone think we should try these when healthy (no Bourque since we don't know when he'll be back);

Galchenyuk - Plekanec - Ryder
Pacioretty - Desharnais - Gallagher
Prust - Eller - Gionta
White - Halpern - Moen

Glachenyuk already struggles defensively in easy matchups, sticking him on a line that plays tough minutes is a very bad idea. He needs to diminate "easy minutes" before getting tougher ones. Before last night he had no goals and 4 assists in his last 18 games.

He had 3rd-4th line duties with limited minutes. How many goal does Moen have?
