I like that Emery already has a full roster signed up and ready to go. He can take the player he wants. If it's a DE, we know that he is going to Cup Peppers next year. Wouldn't be that bad. If he takes a ILB, it's good. If he picks a QB, we can save lots of Money with Cutler most likely being gone OR Cutty stays and this will only happen with a SB in this case

Agreed. At least he actually said something that doesn't sound like it came from a robot.

Citing "whispers around the league," ESPN's Adam Schefter hinted on his blog that Alabama OG Chance Warmack could be in for a draft-day mini-slide.

Schefter believes it "wouldn't be completely shocking" if Warmack were available at the Cowboys' No. 18 overall selection. Warmack is a lock first-rounder, but keep in mind many pegged David DeCastro as a top 10-15 pick last April and he lasted to the Steelers' pick at 24. Guard is not a coveted NFL position.

I've been saying this for months. 2 guards aren't going in the freaking top 10.

I don't even see one going before Dallas makes their pick but they could go with a pass rusher too

They very well might --- assuming the right one is there. Remember Dallas is switching from a 3-4 to a 4-3 this year and brought in Monte Kiffin and Rod Marinelli to run the D. They need some 4-3 personnel, and 1st round is the best place to get what they need. There's also talk that Vaccaro is exactly the type of Safety that Kiffin likes for the "Tampa 2" and he's a top prospect in the 1st round. They could go Safety too. They can get a Guard in the 2nd.

EDIT - I forgot, the Cowboys also lost Sensabaugh to Free Agency, so they don't even have a decent starting caliber Safety. That's a real possibility for Round 1. Think of a secondary with Vaccaro, Carr and Claibourne. Not too shabby.

right. That's why I see a good chance of having the choice between Warmack and Cooper + ILB + QB + DT + DE

Emery is in a great position going into the Draft

Its going to be very interesting to see what happens at the draft. Can't wait for Warmack to be sitting there at 20 and Emery takes a corner back and everyone melts down.

That would be meltdown worthy, considering it might be the least position of need on the team.

Ageed 100% and it is a legit concern. You get Warmack or Cooper and add it to what we have, that's an O-line you have to feel is at least NFL average with the potential to be better and an asset to the team. You can't pass that up. Plus, as has been discussed, Cutler is a few big hits away from being done, in which case the whole team is ****ed.

Obviously I'd love Warmack or Cooper but I suspect there will be plenty of good guards available at 50 as well. I wouldn't freak out if they pass on one of them and take a player at another position of need instead.

Nah it's okay, we have Josh McCown.

1, if not both, will be available at #20.

I would be fine with not taking them. In Emery I trust

It's funny you say this. All this time I've been swearing that one of Warmack or Cooper will be available to the Bears at #20 (maybe even both). However, lately, I've seriously been wondering that if either of them are there, if we actually take them or does Emery follow the other mantra I've been saying, and pass on them to take a 2nd tier Guard in the 2nd, or even worse, one much later in the draft. Part of me has really been thinking that this could very well happen.

Hawks will be hosting a game at Soldier Field in February straight out of the Olympics. Don't have a link, but my cousin (who goes to MU as well) had a Hawks marketing guy in his sports marketing class and he said that there will be a series of 3 games in Feb, with LA/NYR/CHI as hosts. Take it with a grain of salt if you want.

@ZachZaidman: #Bears have signed C Taylor Boggs, DT Andre Fluellen and DE Kyle Moore to one-year contracts.

Neither IMO. Sounds like training camp fodder to me. He will be doing well if he makes the 2nd round of cuts.
