Pretty standard talk without saying anything. As such, I don't really care about it either way.

He's a marketing guy and his job is to sell the stars? Did you expect him to say come out and watch us suck? Good lord even the Rangers of the 1980s didn't do that. He's got to put the best spin possible on this situation to put butts in the seat. That's his job. So why is anyone surprised or upset by this?

What would you guys think about shopping Lehtonen at the draft?
Just looking for opinions, please be gentle.
I don't see him having a Brodeur-esque shelf life with his history.
Pretty much going full-on rebuild at this point, it could be a while before the stars are ready to compete.

I was gonna say shut him down for the rest of the season. No real reason to play him anymore.

Maybe someday in the future but right now that is a terrible idea. If Campbell progresses as expected and you REALLY believe in him then you deal Kari in a few years and get a lesser tender to platoon with Campbell. This is assuming the team is still garbage. If the team is a real playoff team then you keep Kari and Campbell and wait to see if Campbell can take the position from him.

Hell no.

But, the last 10 games once we're all but eliminated should be a healthy dose of Nihlstorp and Bachman. Need an audition for the backup spot.

I did expect him to come out and tell us that we fans are a bunch of Dorito-munching, fat-***** who are too lazy to come and watch the "new" Dallas Stars.

I'm so pumped. Chiasson with Benn is a potential long-term combo if they're going to keep Benn at center. I hope Chiasson takes faceoffs tonight.

I love those lines.

I'd switch Fiddler and Roussel, although Cole did seem to have some good chemistry with Fiddler and Nystrom.

Oh, and Loui should be on the right with Fraser on left.

This is minor ... but why the hell not complain about it, that's all you really can do about this season ... I hope Heika just wrote the lines down wrong. Fraser hasn't played RW at all this season, and we know Loui prefers RW. Would seem silly to play both of them out of their primary position.

I like though that the combos and D pair are with an eye towards next season.

Specifically ... I could see them going with MacDermid-Roussel-Garbutt as the 4th line next season. Ideally, they'll add a 3rd center this summer, and I could see them moving Fiddler. They wouldn't move him because he's been bad or anything, but he's not a 3rd center, and I think they'd rather go with Roussel on the 4th line. Plus, whether it remains MacDermid or maybe Gazdic steals the role, I think GM Joe will want an enforcer moving forward. I think it's a wasted spot, but I have to say I was pretty impressed by MacDermid's skating. If he could potentially carve out a defensive role on this team and earn some PK time, I'd have no problem with him hanging around.

That jumped out at me too. It seems pretty common for people to list lw and rw incorrectly so hopefully thats it. Are you thinking Nystrom is a 3rd liner next season or gone?

Kari Lehtonen is in net tonight. Whatever we do ... at all costs ... make sure we don't figure out if Bachman is worth keeping or not. No second chance whatsoever. If he even thinks about touching the ice ... so help me ...

Dallas just really hates Finland, and they want to make sure Lehtonen is too tired to play in the World Championship.

Just love the idea of Fraser with Eakin and Loui both of whom are more responsible defensively but can pass the puck so Fraser can make himself available.

I've been an advocate of moving Chiasson to center but watching him play I can see why they want him on the wing as his board work appears to be really good and they want him there. Chiasson taking faceoffs for Benn is even better. I wanted to watch the game because of the kids but these lines should make it even more enjoyable. Finally, well done Gully. Let's see if it lasts beyond the 1st period.

As much as I love Gazdic, MacDermid is miles ahead of him in skating and positioning.

Gazdic has definitely improved massively since being here in the A, but he's just not on the level of MacDermid.

Unfortunately, I'm thinking he's probably a 3rd liner unless they just decide to rotate MacDermid, Nystrom, and Garbutt.

Nystrom plays such a good game, but he doesn't have the hands to play in the Top 9 I want to see Dallas create. They really need to go with 3 scoring lines if possible. They have the wingers to do it. Hopefully they get an extra center who can play that game as well.

Worst case scenario for me is them keeping Fiddler and Roussel and creating two checking lines. Something like ...

Nystrom-Fiddler-Cole
MacDermid-Roussel-Garbutt

So ... essentially what they are doing right now.

It's just funny... the other day Gulutzan was making a big deal about how Whitney and Fraser are going to work so well together with Ray distributing the puck for Fraser to shoot... 1 game in and it's changed. I look forward to seeing how they change between now and puck drop.

Also, I wouldn't be planning out next year's lineup based on 1 game.

I guess they are going to ride Kari until theres a zero percent chance of the playoffs.
