A fair number of people said it was boneheaded at the time, thus not hind sight. In any case the Oilers have gotten rid of a lot of players that have done great with other teams, it's a special talent of our front office.

Nobody here even knows what was offered yet you jump to conclusions. Typical.

Good for Calgary. They identified who they want to keep long-term and they'll likely need the veteran presence.

Very few people could have imagined that he'd develop his scoring like he has.

My little brother saw it coming though. When he scored 15 in 67, my bro pointed out that he must have hit like 10 posts, and he'd bet that Glencross would score 25 the next year. He saw that **** coming before anyone did.

Most people though still don't even realize how good he is, and just assume that he's had an unsustainable shooting % for the last 3 years.

Thread title is misleading.

Feaster claims 25 teams inquired about Glencross.

Nowhere does he claim to have received 25 offers. He may have received exactly zero offers in fact.

Feaster is an idiot. He's thirty years old, why not just trade him when his value is at its highest? Right now, the current return he would get is the best he will ever get for him.

And why brag about it too? That comes off as so unprofessional. Feaster is so bush league.

He has a NTC, do people honestly read anything on this site anymore? Or do people continue to post before thinking every time it comes to the Flames.

Feaster has been blowing smoke up the fan base's collective butt hole since he got the job. He's like a damn politician.

"Yes, I did just total your car but that tree was ugly anyway...I guess you could say I did you a favor knocking it down...with your car."

Gotta stop embarrassing yourself with these outlandish statements and simply report the news.
In his defense, the Boston deal was just that except a conditional.

It's not Calgary's fault Iginla handcuffed them saying he wanted to go to Pittsburgh instead.

Hyperbole and bluster to do a bit of damage control for his recent collapse of credibility. IMO.

It'll take Cgy at least 4 yrs to even be a playoff team again barring major UFA coups imo and Glencross won't be around in 5-7 yrs time to make much of a contribution so I think it would have been wise to move him.

In fact, I wouldn't have been surprised if he got a 1st pick though Feaster's obviously not very good at negotiating for maximum return.

Yeah, I do agree that Glencross would be easier to trade with his contract than those guys, but Conacher is producing at just about the same pace as Glencross and he's 7 years younger. At quick glance this looks like a career pace for Glencross too. No way Yzerman would have made that switch.

Nicely played.

In what world is a 20+ goal scorer not a top-6 forward. He's on pace for 30+ in a full season too.

Glencross is great, all around good hockey player and is fun to watch.

As for Feaster, Im sorry for Calgary fans. Sutter with bad trades, Feaster with some poor returns. The franchise deserves a better GM. Kekäläinen would have been soooo good, especially when you consider his superb eye for talent in the draft.

3 first rounders this year should pave the way for a bright future. Who knows Iginlamight just come back too . . . Probably not.

No, probably not. But IMO there's a very reasonable chance that Bouwmeester comes back when his contract is up with STL, so there's always hope for that.

Jay Feaster is a plug. Flames are the one canadian team I don't hate. I feel bad for flames fans. Feaster should be fired and Flames should hire Lindy Ruff to be Coach and GM.

OK so you keep CG who is a young very good player and that is a smart team but then why did you keep Cammi and Tanguay. I mean at this point why not deal them for mid round picks? I guess that you can wait until the draft and I have no idea what their status is but other than Kipper I would have thought that Calgary would have moved everyone they could for picks and prospects.

I will say this about Calgary though, its a great place and the way that players act about staying there and not wanting to leave especially with how mediocre the team has been for these past few years it says allot about what they have going there.

The guys who get there aren't looking to run away at the first chance they get.

I imagine you guys will get very busy at the draft and make a bunch of moves but then its going to be a long couple of years while you develop these picks into players.

Their value will be higher next year since they are on multi year contracts and the cap is falling this year. The Flames also need to make the cap floor.
