This.

People hate just to hate. They NEED a whipping boy.

Everyone played well tonight. Fleury bailed out the Pens. It happens. They played MORE than well enough to win this game. I feel pretty confident about this team moving forward. They outplayed the best team in the east back to back and took 3/4 points.

If it happens once, you cut a little slack to the forward. 2-3 chances, especially with a guy who has most goals from the puck hitting his body? A little hard to defend Boyle.

Not “ideal” but I’ll take a point. Especially how they got it. This game was like watching last year’s team. Played really damn hard.

Who says you don’t need grit and toughness eh?? Played like a team possessed in the 3rd. Protected the net, protected each other. Played with a chip on their shoulder. Found their ****ing balls.

And who was right in Matt Cooke’s ****ing face. Ryane Clowe. Great job forechecking and maintaining puck possession by him as well.

I ****ing like this team again. MOAR JAM.

PS – How do the Pens get away with so much ****? Seriously, Cooke baiting the bench? What other team gets away with that? Classless. And the NHL turns a blind eye.

I've defended Del Zotto to death on this board over the last 2 years, but I've never been prouder of him then when he dropped Malkin on his ass after he was poking at Henrik. Dude's matched up against the Malkin line most of the last 2 games and held his own. Got to be impressed. The O will come with him.

What do you mean? In the past the game would have simply been over and we would have gotten 1 pt the SO might be retarded but it didn't affect anything elseBoyle was alright today. Couldn't pull it off but he was not bad at all. He was noticeable and part of plays

Troll Zotto was at full force tonight. He rustled a lot of jimmies tonight.

I hope he can look at tapes of Kevin Bieksa. He's also a player who plays really well and pisses others off. Del Zotto NEEDS to play with agitation.

Did we hold Malkin to 0 points during this home and home? Impressive considering he owns us.

John Moore only two shifts in the third. Sully finding it hard to find him ice time on road games where the Rangers don't have the matchup advantage.

I think he's looked quite serviceable, I like his foot speed. Better option than Hammer for sure.

I was so glad to see Cally pushing Cooke away, too. You'd think the refs would do their jobs and make sure he didn't end up there in the first place, but we should all know better.

No respect for that piece of garbage franchise. Can't wait until Fleury gives up 4-5 a game in the first round and they're eliminated.

He's still on pace for 33 points. He's bee so good defensively this season, he's rounding himself into a top two-way defenseman. Love when he plays with an edge, it makes him that much better.

No it's not.

When Hank makes a spectacular save do we say, "Boy, that guy totally blew it."

No. We'll throw out a million different sayings on how spectacular Hank is.

We need to do that tonight. MAF stood on his head.

But since Hagelin and Stepan are favorites, we won't poke on the little nuances like their inability to shoot and constantly going for the pass...

We'll need to whip Boyle for playing awesome.

The team - as a collective whole - played splendid.

It is clear as day that the majority of you have never laced up skates before. Obvious.

"Hank should have made that save."
"OMG. I could have scored there..."

No. You couldn't. It is why you're not in the NHL.

We finally are starting to get an identity back. We are - little by little - beginning to play like last year's team. We just took 3/4 and DOMINATED the best team in the east.

But - like always - we have ***** and moan about something.

Didn't take long for Clowe to become a fan favorite, great opening game, fights tonight, steps right in when Cooke is chirping at the bench.

I think the boys will be angry tomorrow, and take it out on Carolina, get it done, LGR!

The guy has one ****in goal! That simply isn't good enough. It's a waste of brassard's playmaking having him on that line.

lol, losing in a shootout is so demoralizing. 10 years ago a tie on the road would have been very satisfying but not getting that extra point in the skills comp just pisses me off. why cudnt they get rid of this **** in the new CBA?

We objectively played fantastically these past two games.

Every line has been good.

Can we play like this and **** on a significantly worse team than the Pens? Tomorrow will be almost as big a test as today was.

The officiating in the 3rd period was awful. Kunitz's slash on Boyle. Cooke's slash on Lundqvist. Zuccarello's stick being broken with another slash in the slot. WTF!!?! BTW I expect I'm preaching to mostly the converted here but I think there is a bias by the league favoring the Penguins. Just an opinion.

That being said this new version of the team has a lot more push back than last week's version and we more than less outplayed the opposition--well the Devils could say the same about their game against the Bruins last night. Difference is they got 0 points in the standings and we got 1.

In any case my hero of the game is MDZ. His elbow was another one the referees missed. It was a bit sneaky--coming on the heels of Boyle's retaliatory hit on Kunitz. Just the kind of hit that so many of the Penguins players specialize in. Turn around being fair play in this instance. Dupuis then took a cheap shot that the referees could hardly not penalize which led to our tying the game.
