He would have to go through waivers.

I don't think that's a problem at all. He will clear any waivers at the moment.

Did they change any of the wording on this in the new CBA?

It was basically 2 games + file for an extension up to 3 games... for a total of 5.

I felt pretty sad when I watched his interview. Must be super tough to train when you don't know when's the next time you can play in an actual game, if at all.

I really hope Hards gets into a couple games and plays well before the end of the season.

I don't think he will play next year as the disease will only get worse and he gets older.

I'd love for him to get a start in a playoff game.

I wish him the best, but Harding does absolutely nothing for me as a back-up going forward. Veteran, sure. BUT, he has played in one NHL playoff game, which was 5 years ago, and I believe may have been only for 1 period. Hackett/Kuemper have the most recent playoff experience, and of course that was at the AHL level. But it was recent. Backstrom hasn't been in the midst of a playoff for some time.

Anyone know the status of Josh, how is he doing? Its looking less of chance that he plays this season right? What about ever again? I hope he gets better!

Hopefully they send him down to Houston for conditioning. Believe Brian Elliott of STL got to do it, so don't see why he wouldn't be able to do the same.

Surprised at how little updates we ever hear about him. Even Russo hardly mention him at all. Not that there's a ton to update on, but I'd like to hear how he's looking out there and how close he is to returning.

The team hasn't been practicing... so not much to report from practice... is there?

He just had a long presser after the last time he got to practice with the team.

Russo has all but guaranteed Harding doesn't play this year on KFAN a couple times. Not much more to say.

To paraphrase, even if his health allows him to practice, which it appears it does... getting him up to game speed is going to be impossible because the wild are in the midst of a playoff run.

Probably the most realistic analysis i've heard. Hey! I'm all for happy endings and miracles from god and little fairies spreading pixie dust making everything alright. I would love to see Josh Harding perform at the level we've seen from him.

Unfortuately this isn't a made for TV movie on the lifetime network about miracles and the triumph of hard work. This is an ugly dibilatating disease that can be managed, but to expect Harding to come back at all is assinine. His career is done.

I wish him the best, but to hear people say he'll be back this year is crazy. He has got more important issues.

Harding had his first full practice with the team since going on IR. Said he felt good, felt quick out there. Getting back to normal. Won't be on the bench tomorrow, but it sounds like that's a lack of practice issue and not a physical issue.

Yeah, watched that earlier this morning. I just hope he gets another shot, really that's what I'm hoping for. Whether that's with this team or another one.

It looks like Harding is probably going to be sent down to Houston for a conditioning stint:
Quote:
If all goes according to plan, Josh Harding could be suiting up for games with the Houston Aeros next weekend.

The Wild goaltender rejoined his teammates for practice Wednesday for the first time in two months. He looked amazingly good for somebody who hadn’t taken consistent shots from NHL players since Feb. 11.

Never got an answer: if Harding retires (and moves upstairs), would that be an option?

Harding has been assigned to Houston. I'd bet that if he has a game or two without incident, he probably gets Kuemper's spot on the Wild and maybe gives Backs a much-needed night off.

He would be such an asset to have in the wing for the p-word.

Wild.com story

We'll see how he does. Will be interesting to see if he gets another year to try and stick again. Would not be opposed to Kuemper being the starter in Houston next year and Backs/Hards up here.

I would be shocked if they did buy him out. He's on an absolute bargain of a contract and they have him locked in long enough to let Kuemps develop. And if he can't play, they can put him on LTIR so it doesn't affect the cap.

Not to mention the bad PR.
