I usually get the eight course tasting menu (with wine pairing, of course), but
if you're truly hungry the venison topped with foie gras would probably be best.

Terrible restaurant. Like really bad. The secret taste to everything is cardboard.

It's old thread and all but I'll never eat there again. Just so bad, go to a real place with real food and you'll have a better meal.

There's also better places downtown that aren't chains that serve some decent food with drinks.

Agree with you on this one. Their low quality tastes much better too IMO and beer is cheaper too.

Like someone said, go to station des sports. I worked there as a waiter last summer and the ambiance is really nice. As for food, I would not say it is low quality, it is medium quality food reallyyyyyy cheap and beer is very cheap 2.

The owner is worth 500+ millions, he owns all the commercial units and have 50+ bar/restaurant, thats why he can afford to sell cheaper beer and cheaper food vs anyone else.

Trust me, the food taste delicious and almost every plate is less than 10$, the pint is like 4,00$

http://stationsports.ca/menu/boissons/?lang=en

The food at Gage au sports is what you should expect eating in a cuba sports bar at 2x price of SDS, and I am being serious .

Don't say chicken wings please lol talking about a real meal lol
Dude: In Korea I've eaten live octopus, chopped off legs still squirming, as I put them in my mouth.

I've eaten sliced Eye of Tuna, washed down with Eye of tuna liqueur, in a famous small bar in Jeonju.

In Hong Kong, I picked out my snake, and I ate the ****er in my soup 20 minutes later.

Have some fun. Order what you feel like eating. You don't have to be worried about Cage. Probably everything is pretty good there. It's Montreal, and the Chef will be a work a day pro.

I'd say have a steak, medium, fries, and with a good solid draft beer.

Edit: Montreal guys above are saying all the food is bad there. I trust them. There's no excuse for that in Montreal. Go somewhere else then. Order a medium steak and fries. That is the test.

Shocked at the amount of people here posting that the food is good at Sports Station!

IMO, everything is good at that place EXCEPT the food.

Any place that cooks wieners in different ways and then tries to sell it to you at the price of a steak is a complete sham. The only good thing about la cage are the hockey games which they have nothing to do with. La Cage isn't a restaurant that's trying to earn an honest living by providing good food to the people of Montreal. They are exploiting montrealers love for the habs so they can sell you trash for your hard earned money. Oddly enough, when they came to ontario, they are actually selling us proper food since ontarians don't give a damn about the habs.

Don't forget - you get this free when the Habs score five.

Cage aux Sports is lucky that we don't have a Real Sports Bar & Grill here yet. They have them in Toronto and Ottawa and they are awesome. The food is great, and the giant TV is crazy.

For those who don't know this place, go check some pictures. I was at the one in Ottawa last month watching the Habs against the Leafs and it was 10 times better than the Cage, but then again, that's not saying much when you consider how bad the Cage is.

The Cage aux Sports, where the beer is warm and the wings are cold.

I went at Peel Pub like 5-6 yards ago. I am from Quebec so wasnt going to MTL a lot. We went at Peel Pub and week later in the news they said they were serving recycled beer.

Man we got drunk for cheap. I just hope they don't do that again lol

Sad part is, even with free chicken wings they can't entice me to go there.

Free...chicken...wings.

There isn't much I wouldn't do for free chicken wings, but going to La Cage is one of them.

Quesadillas are awesome, nachos are good too. I don't know why people complain that much about the food. It's not bad at all.

In it's category (Gas Station Quality) I suppose it's not that bad at all.

I went there twice. (always give restaurants a second chance)

And the pizza was straight up all frozen stuff/canned. Even the black olives had no taste. How do you manage to not have any taste in a freaking black olive?

The kicker is that they have huge lettering that says "fresh ingredients" in the restaurant, but when I asked the waitress about the ingredients 1 by 1, not a single one was fresh. Not 1.

Plus their pizza's are almost $30, yet it tastes pretty much like Pizza Pizza.

Brutal.

Oh, and the service. The first time I went, we had to wait for our bill at least 45 mins. After about 40 minutes a hostess came up to us and impolitely told us we had to leave... So we obliged, but as I was passing the front booth I mentioned "You know we haven't even got our bill yet, and we asked 4 times". To which she responded "oh ****" (again, pretty impolite) and went to the back. I stood around waiting as my group impatiently wanted to leave, and 20 minutes later no one showed up, so I advised the other hostess that we were leaving because we were told to, and we hadn't received our bill, because the servers were too busy gossiping (they were all standing in a circle near the kitchen). I left my business card in case they ever wanted to bill us, but I never got a call back.
Getting asked to leave a table because "we were loitering" is pretty much the most annoying thing I have encountered at a restaurant. Especially since we had crap service all night and couldn't get the bill after asking several times.

TL: DR = Boston Pizza is the worst.

If you can eat somewhere else before you go to Cage, you're much better off. I'm pretty sure most of the food on their menu is pre-cooked and frozen before they heat it for you. It's that awful.

Station is also pretty ******.

I went to MVP once, the food was good but the waiters are awful and the atmosphere is pretty bad.

Roasters has pretty good food and atmosphere.

3 Brasseurs >>> BP >>>>> Cage

Also I got sick once after eating at La Station des Sports. Food quality is pretty bad but the beer is cheap.
