Anyone care to give some report on Lombardi?

How did he looked?

He made a couple of good passes on the PP and stripped a Stars defenseman of the puck which led to a breakaway but other than that was underwhelming. He's a decent depth player - not much of an upgrade over Bonino or Holland.

Just finished watching the game (passed out just before the game started).

-Our defense looked like they really didn't care. No urgency except in the final 10mins.

-Fasth needs strict instructions never to leave the crease.

-Selanne without the puck is a total no-show

-Etem, Holland were our best players.

-BB should have called a time out in the first period to let the players know that kind of **** effort is not enough

-Ryan was a total no-show. Trade him to Cherry Hills Divers.

-Referees were just horrible.

-No energy, no hitting. We need more energy players.

-We have absolutely zero chance against the Queers with this kind of play.

Wide open nets hitting posts, Fasth playing making huge saves then making mistakes to let in weak stuff.

It looked like a NHL13 game, where nobody want to play defence and it was just no stop rushes.

I think they will do fine against Queens, Getzlaf will most likely be back and the Ducks were severely playing down to Stars level. If they played a tight game, would have been another shutout, but they played the really fast pace rush game that the young stars would like.

Tough game to watch live. First 10 minutes we played like a team smelling blood, playing against an opponent with no stars(ha ha), then it just went terribly bad.

Bad
Fasth was both terrible and great. Got a couple breaks and made some great saves otherwise it is worse
Power Play - Terrible with Perry on the point
Only line that looked good was Etem-Holland-Palmieri. Every other line had so many changes that it seemed like training camp. No one knew what their role was.
Looked like Winnick is hurt, not moving as well as he did in the beginning of the year
Defense - not sure if I want to blame them completely, it seems like there is too many odd man rushes. I think the forwards are as much to blame since we try to have our D pinch up

Good
Etem is my new favorite player. Really learning the NHL game.
Cogs was all over the place
Beleskey played his role great.
Koivu - How old is he? He playes with the energy of a 25 year old.

As far as Lombardi, I thought he played pretty well. He has great speed, good passer. I see him as a combination of Koivu and Cogliano

We need to finalize these lines quickly.

If Perry ever again plays PP at the blueline, somebody needs to hit BB with a shoe. It just doesn't work. Perry is at his best near the crease.

When the PP was clicking wasn't it Fowler, Souray, Getzlaf, Perry, Bonino? Why not put Souray back and one of Etem/Cogliano or Lombardi (liked what i saw on 2nd unit) and see how it goes.

He has a big milestone coming up with his next point. It's always hard to score when a big milestone is close! The next point Selanne scores will be his 700 point in the NHL since he turned 30...

The officiating has been getting consistently worse. Again I think hockey is a sport where you can't complain about the officiating all that much but for christ's sake what is it going to take to get a game that is officiated right down the middle. I have no problem with our penalties called against us. They were reckless and stupid. But Dallas committed 4-5 super obvious penalties that were just shrugged off. Mainly the Cogs one.

Holland needs to fight for his space better.

I do think he's on the road to becoming an NHL C though.

The reffing didnt lose us the game, we played bad, BUT, the refs sure made certain that we couldnt get back in it. I for one am pissed at the inconsistencies, golagoski has an obvious deliberate offside with a shot on net, puck is dropped outside OUR blue line!! I remember Winnik getting called on an intentional when he dumped the puck round the boards and the faceoff was all the way back in out zone! :-/

Whats really hard to swallow is the stuff they missed, which was so obvious, the trip on Teemu, cogs getting dragged down, Sourays so called "board", PLEASE!!!! Roussel running around like a tough guy, diving when pushed and fights one of our smallest guys, a rookie at that! I think there were a number of hits by the stars that 100% would have been called a late hit if it were a duck making the hit!!
Also form last game, the high stick on Beleskey and Perry getting his stick slashed in two!!

Subjectively lets say they are not biased and are calling/ missing things both ways, in general the refs are blowing games to a degree thats worthy of an adult film award!!!!!!!!

I agree. He's still got some of those pre-NHL tendencies. He'll learn.

I think he has a pulled muscle.

And I'm still thinking hamstring. It would explain why he was on the bench that time, but it would also explain why he hasn't skated since.

Playoffs are going to be a night mare. Reffing was so/so at the beginning. As the year has gone on its gradually became worse. I notice though Anaheim seems to get the same refs quite a bit, probably based on location.

I can only expect it to be horrible in the playoffs unless they scrap these refs and bring in the more veteran ones they usually do.

Everyone will be watching in the playoffs, they cannot be this bad.

that basically sums it up. he didn't stand out in anyway at all and for a top-6 forward thats not very good news. Holland's line with etem and palmeiri were easily better than the lombardi line..

on the PP with getzy out, perry needs to stay in front of the crease and leave ryan and fowler on the point.
