If his back is a lot worse than thought I will fly to his house and personally apologize for everything I said about him.

If it's worse than you thought he probably doesn't belong in the lineup. Some players can still be effective at 50% but that's a pretty small list.

This is just nonsense. He's a 2C, yet you have NO PROBLEM with him being ineffective at cycling the puck, awful on the offensive boards especially down low, ineffective at creating scoring opportunities, ineffective at cashing on opportunities given by an elite playmaker, and ineffective in the neutral zone. BUT, since he didn't make some awful turnover at the blue line that led directly to the goal then he isn't responsible. Meanwhile, I think it's safe to conclude that when you give him a pass for spending most of his time in the defensive zone that there's a good chance the rest of us can come to terms with the simple fact that more time in your own zone is a bad thing, leads to goals against, and is reflected in his +/- when compared to the rest of the team.

I feel like the reason Kane doesn't do a lot of hitting is because, well...

He can't hit someone without almost going down himself. Anyway, didn't he get a penalty for this? He's better off just occasionally getting into shoving fights and scoring goals.

If there was anyone on the Chicago Blackhawks roster that I would have traded as part of a package for a second line center, it would have been Stalberg.

When did I say I have no problem with him being ineffective in those areas (which you have blown out of proportion anyway)?

But ya, since he wasn’t the one that was directly responsible for it, and could of done nothing differently to avoid the GA, why should he be dinged for it? Of course it’s bad when you spend the majority of the time in your own zone, but why does Bolland get ALL the flak for that? I love Kane, but he isn’t doing anything to help Bolland out in the defensive zone. Neither did Sharp nor anybody else that has played with him. Bolland is always the first player back, and the last forward to leave our zone. ALWAYS!!!!!

I’m willing to bet if you put Bolland with Toews, or Hossa, that his all-around play would improve drastically.

I'd like to see Pirri up for a game on a line with Kane but I'm guessing we'll see some **** like Kruger on the 2nd line and Carcillo into the lineup.

Yeah, that was supposed to be "Sharp back?" in my last post. I'm assuming if Bolland is still out when Sharp returns that Sharp goes to C.

I think Q wants to give Krüger a look as #2 Center rather than seeing Handzus there.

I don't think anyone wants to see Handzus at 2LC.

Sharp and Kane are good in the neutral zone but were never mistaken for checking wingers. Bolland runs back to the defensive zone before the play is done in the offensive zone. Watch any top 6 center in the league for a few shifts and you'll see what's wrong with Bolland. He belongs in a checking role with gritty checking wingers, that's it. Yeah, anyone will look good with Toews, he wins board battles down low, when in the slot he's puck thief, and never quits on the play yet still can skate back to his own zone quickly. It's not Bolland's job to be the first man back..that's what D pairings are for. It's his job to make sure they're not outnumbered.

Mayers, Bickell, and Stalberg have all proven they belong in the NHL. That doesn't mean we should try them at #2C.
