No way he gets suspended.

I don't see how anyone can say that he intended to purposely hit him in the face, when at the moment of contact (and a moment prior) his eyes are completely on the puck.

Blysma should have said the same thing when Neal took runs and hit Giroux and Couturier in the head.

Should have there been a penalty? Yes. Should Del Zotto get fined? Probably. Compared to what the Pittsburgh Crosbys get away with, it is a clean hit.

With the risk of sounding stupid, why do they call it a "home and home" when you play home and away in back-to-back games against the same team?

well, it's techincally a 2 game series. one team is home the first game and the other team is home the second game.

So basically every game played during the NHL season is a win, depends on how you look at it. Ridiculous to call it a home-and-home.

How is it ridiculous? Both teams play at home in a 2 game mini series. Its pretty straightforward.

Isn't it a home-and-away then? Since both teams play home and away in the mini series?

I thought the Murray hit on Boyle was very late and callable and very dangerous if it had of been a smaller guy than Boyle ...anybody else ?

I counted several bad penalties which were not called.

Dupuis charging on Del Zotto
Cooke slashing on Zucarello
Cooke slashing on Hagelin
Cooke slashing on Lundqvist
Cooke with the taunting of the NYR bench
Murray with the late hit on Boyle

Pretty awfully refereed game. The refs should be embarrassed for that performance and be given pink slips.

Dupuis did get a penalty unless you're counting another charge? Don't remember the slash on Hagelin. Kunitz slashed Boyle in the side--right before Boyle took his penalty. He got Boyle in an exposed area and there's no way that was not deliberate--but it was a minor penalty. Cooke could have got a misconduct for going over towards our bench--at the very least the officials should have stopped that a lot sooner. IMO Murray didn't hit Boyle late he just hit him real hard.

How about the blatant overhead slash on Zucc's stick right in front of the ref on our 5-4 which snapped his stick right in half. The goalie interference on Henrik. Or the crosscheck to Richards along the boards?

Game was horrendous. There were a few missed calls on the Rangers too but not nearly as many as on the Pens.

The missed call that really got me screaming was the Zucc stick slash. It's an auto penalty and every ref there has their eyes right on that play. Why none of them raised their hand is just infuriating.

Also the Kunitz slash on Boyle's back right before Boyle got the "boarding" penalty for a soft shove that somehow sent Kunitz flying head first into the boards. Guy went down easier than the French.

Other than hitting a shot off the post, Iginla was COMPLETELY invisible these past two games.

I'd love to see Haley in there for Pyatt if we face Pitt in the first round. It'll never happen but imagine the firepower, Haley, Clowe, Asham, Dorsett for starters

I think it would be blacked out for us in NY because MSG had the broadcast.

New rule this year.
Isn't that only if you touch the puck before it touches a stick? Plus the way Sutter did it, with his had still fully on his stick, I don't know if any ref would've called it. My main point was them going on and on about how it should've been a goal because of a penalty, without realizing that the Penguins never got control of the puck so the play would've never been whistled down.

What's wrong about it? Isn't the penalty in the faceoff circle only called if you touch the puck with your glove before it touches a stick? Even so, Champ, my main point was that a penalty wouldn't be whistled down until the Penguins got control of the puck anyway.

I think Iginla would very much benefit from having Crosby to feed him the puck occasionally. But then, what player wouldn't.
So far, Iggy is not getting too many chances, and I expect that this is something that is very high on the radar for Bylsma and Shero, Crosby or no Crosby.
