I am a very strong supporter of Carey Price and refuse to "criticize" him after we lose a game.

With that said, I am in complete agreement with you. Budaj has been great against Boston.

I would like to see him get the start.

I was actually hoping that Eller would get another chance to show his stuff today. Back to the third line for him.

Damn, I am agreeing with this as well.

2 for 2.

Chuckie with Pleks and Ryder would be a high scoring line.

And I think that Gio combined with Eller and Prust would be a very strong defensive line with the ability to score goals as well.

Call MT and tell him to make it happen.

Same here, I'd love for him to try Desharnais at wing once.

Fantastic job on the GDT by the way!

I'm glad you left Claude Julien intact. No photoshop needed for him in that theme

Eller shows his stuff on the 3rd line very well. He plays his role there with his defensive play.

Offense is glamorous but teams do not win without defense.

Price needs to get going vs Boston. Historically he has fared very well against them so I'm not worried. If it were a playoff game tonight, its not like we could start Budaj.

Tuukka Rask on the other hand only has 2 wins in 12 starts against us. That is probably more troubling for Boston, sure he mad big stops in the first meeting but we missed way too many chances.

Road team seems to do well in this series lately and without Bergeron we should take advantage of the matchups. Seguin isn't close to as good defensively as PB. Hopefully, Pleky can play tonight.

When you increase sample size:

15-8-3
2.61 GAA
.916 SV%

3-1-0
2.70 GAA
.901 SV%

You are correct.

I was basing that decision on the last game during the shootout. Budaj frustrated the hell out of the Bruins and added to their despair about losing to the Habs.

if budaj didn't get the next start after his last performance, nothing will. that said, it's almost playoff time and price needs to play against the big teams. this is a big test for price, hope he's up for the challenge.

not sure who watched the pens/rangers game, but damn, fleury was impressive in net, making countless saves. Those are the performances we will need, come playoff time, and not just 'solid' goal tending.

If Plek plays I hope our third line gets a bit more ice time. The Bergeron injury + last change gives us a great opportunity to roll lines tonight. Might as well let plek not get over worked if hes still hurting

You're right.

Every hockey analyst, member of hockey organizations, scouts, pro scouts, GMs, players.. they are all wrong.

You, however, are completely right.

Then what happens in the PO if we face Bruins? Price needs to beat the Bruins now, and he knows it. Big game for him tonight.

I wouldn't want to overplay Plek if he's recovering anyway, we are better with him than without him but Eller should get serious burn either way.

You play the playoffs when you get to the playoffs.

You play tonight's game tonight.

Playing Budaj tonight would serve one purpose. Get in the Bruins heads for this game. This decision is not meant to be a slap to Price nor to say that Price cannot compete against the Bruins in this game or in the playoffs.

It is simply a manuever to get in the heads of the Bruins and take them off of their game................tonight and tonight only.
