Sounds like Andreas Lilja has signed a two-year contract to play in Sweden when this season is over

Sorry, Lilja's deal starts next year; he'll finish the season here. He seems pretty upbeat about heading to Sweden.

not sure if it would of mattered if it would of started this season or not in Sweden. Because of the 35+ rule his cap hit stays till the end of the season.

Good for him. He's not good enough to play in the NHL anymore. Now he gets to go home and play.

Never understood why he's been hated so much on here... he's not very good, but he's never been a problem. Cya Lilja.

He's signed with Rögle, where Kenny Jönsson is an assistant coach. They just got relegated to Allsvenskan (Swe-2).

same here

Lilja was a fine 6th/7th defenseman. A lot of people here don't understand what lower pairing defenseman are and expect them to be amazing every game.

No. We expect them to be serviceable. Your posts always have something wrong with them. No one thinks they should be "amazing every game."

Lilja was on his last legs, aka, wasn't serviceable.

That being said: Age caught up with him, he needs to take a step down, thanks for the blood and guts (seriously), and enjoy your time in Sweden.

One less bench riding defensemen on the team. Good luck Andreas.
