That said, we could still end up against TOR/OTT and this scenario is probably the best possible matchup for us unless we are somehow playing the Isles..

Devils look awful and I guess they won´t make the playoffs. Rangers are playing well and that wouldn´t be an easy matchup for us, doesn´t matter how great our head-to-heads are against them. And I want no piece of the Flyers again, that would be an awful heart-attacker..

I was thinking the same thing i cant see NYR missing playoffs so im rooting for them to win and get in the top 6. I wouldn't count out the Jets yet there next 6 games are at home vs Phi Buf Fla TB Car NYI

I hope that the Jets win against the Flyers. Can't see it with their current form though.

I could see the Rangers going on a surge and getting the 6th seed, maybe even the 5th seed. But I also wouldn't be surprised if they had a huge letdown and missed the playoffs. It wouldn't be the first time this season everyone thought the Rangers were about to go on a roll only to fall flat on their faces.

Right now, even if they win all their games on hand, we are still leading, and our remaining schedule is pretty good, with Carolina twice and Florida and Buffalo once. One of them could pass us, but it's not very likely. They play each other tonight tho, huge game !

Why is everyone suddenly scared of NYR? We've owned them for a long time now. They embarrassed the Pens the other night but let's not pretend that the Pens were really putting in much effort, either. When the Pens have faced them this year healthy and actually trying it's been no contest. That's not to say they couldn't lose a playoff series because obviously they could, but it's a decent match-up for the Pens.

I dont think you can judge this years results vs Nyr both teams are allot different now then they were earlier in the year. I doubt anybody is scared of them but there are much better matchups with teams like Ott Tor Nyi Wpg

Because they are a goal scoring machine under coach Showbiz. I'm only scared of injuries and Bylsma's possible colossal coaching incompetence.

Because the Pens are what they wish the team they support to be like.

4-1. Bryz is worst goalie in the league, he didn't even flinch on that last goal.

Because they beat a fully healthy Pens team 6-1 the other night and took an even healthier team to a shootout last night.

A Jets win over Flyers would be really nice today.

I wonder if Chris Shafer will be stopping by to wax poetic on the Flyers being a mentally weak, soft team.

Everytime I watch Simmonds, I hope somebody will catch him with his head down and destroy him.

How does a buyout work? Do they have to pay him the entire contract? It's so confusing.

Capgeek has the answer:

Younger than age 26 at the time of buyout, 1/3 the remaining value
Age 26 or older at the time of the buyout, 2/3 the remaining value

in case of Bryz:

Ilya Bryzgalov is 32 years old on the buyout date of June 15, 2013, setting the buyout ratio at 2/3 and the total buyout cost at $23,000,000 spread over 14 years. His contract was originally valued at $51,000,000 beginning in 2011 and ending in 2020, with $34,500,000 remaining from the buyout year forward. The following is a season-by-season breakdown of the buyout. A negative buyout cap

Anyone remember those 5 minutes when people were scared that the Flyers were getting hot?
