Bernier is phenomenal. I know we just traded for Hackett, but if there's any chance we can get him, we need to.

Use Hackett in a package to get him

If Regier (and Corsi) are around, they have a yen for bigger netminders. I don't think they go looking for Bernier, honestly. Nothing against the guy, just the way the Sabres seem to want size in net now.

Not saying you're wrong in regards to their preference for bigger goalies. But with Enroth (5'10" 165lbs) here why would they be against Bernier? He is 6' 185lbs

All the goalies they drafted after Enroth have been significantly larger so if following the trend they'd shy away from Bernier

I know but he is here now and will likely be here going forward for at least a few years. It seems daft to rule out a good goalie because he isn't 6'3"

Good night for us, even out west with Vancouver winning and Minnesota losing. The Wild have lost three in a row, and from the sound of Russo's article they're getting worn down. If they lose at a rejuvenated CBJ club on Sunday night, they could officially be on the ropes with Chicago and St. Louis coming to town next week.

why not just see what we have in Hackett? he is a legit starting goalie prospect who is close to ready. Before the season I would have preferred Hackett to Bernier as a goalie prospect, now obviously Bernier is farther along and having a more impressive year but Hackett played lights out last season in both the NHL and the AHL and was considered a top 10 goalie prospect in the world as little as 3 months ago. Hackett is also 6-2" compared to Bernier being 5-11" and has unbelievable athleticism to go with his size. I don't know how good he will be but I think it would be silly to give up assets for Bernier when we have Hackett in our system.

They want a Rinne type. *shrug* They don't want small in net, so why would they put assets into trying to pry out a 5'11" guy? It seems daft to think they would suddenly shift their direction and fly in the face of their commentary rather than trying to land someone who fits what they want.

Couple of things

1) I didn't mean to suggest they go after Bernier or that I even want to go after him.

2) I threw Hackett for Bernier out there as an idea for the poster that still wanted Bernier even though we acquired Hackett.

3) This was the first time I'm learning of Regier/Corsi's desire for the bigger Rinne type of goalie. I was trying to wrap my head around them dismissing a top young goalie because he doesn't fit a specific desired size. Because I believe you that they would not be interested in Bernier for the reasons stated. I felt their mentality was daft not that you pointed it out.

My thoughts on goal going forward is to re-sign Miller and let Enroth back him up while Hackett develops. But thats a discussion for another thread.

A lot of shenanigans in that game last night.

That could be a entertaining series.

Yes, as far as I know the only limit is 50% (max), not limit on total amount

I don't know if you guys care enough to snoop through our forum -- and you should be snooping, because we're Expansion Bros 4 Lyfe -- but we kind of really, really, really love Derek Roy.

Thanks, Buffalo!

Roy is good. Really the definition of a whipping boy for fans here.

The Bruins had a 6v4 PP to end the game, and seemed allergic to shooting the puck...I mean, when the clock's ticking down like that you can't be looking for the perfect shot!

Roy could grow a third nipple that secretes a cure for cancer and I honestly wouldn't care less. Shadows and illusions of a wasted decade in Sabres hockey. I guess not technically as bad as the 80s but every positive memory those rosters gave us has been trumped by their inadequacies time and time again.

Awesome. My buddy's dad is a big time Rangers fan and he finally completed the set of Rags road games last(?) year. The team hooked him up, too, it was pretty amazing.
