It usually has really attendance for UFC events, at least.

The owner is worth 500+ millions, he owns all the commercial units and have 50+ bar/restaurant, thats why he can afford to sell cheaper beer and cheaper food vs anyone else.

Trust me, the food taste delicious and almost every plate is less than 10$, the pint is like 4,00$

The food at Gage au sports is what you should expect eating in a cuba sports bar at 2x price of SDS, and I am being serious .
If the owner can afford so much, he really needs to afford better wait staff. No offense, dude. I don't think I've had a male waiter there so I'm surely not directing this at you, but 100% of the waitresses there have ****ed up the bills any time I've gone. The food is fine, the beer is fine, but holy crap, they do not know how to serve large tables without screwing it up horrendously.

And the pizza was straight up all frozen stuff/canned. Even the black olives had no taste. How do you manage to not have any taste in a freaking black olive?

The kicker is that they have huge lettering that says "fresh ingredients" in the restaurant, but when I asked the waitress about the ingredients 1 by 1, not a single one was fresh. Not 1.

Plus their pizza's are almost $30, yet it tastes pretty much like Pizza Pizza.

Brutal.

Oh, and the service. The first time I went, we had to wait for our bill at least 45 mins. After about 40 minutes a hostess came up to us and impolitely told us we had to leave... So we obliged, but as I was passing the front booth I mentioned "You know we haven't even got our bill yet, and we asked 4 times". To which she responded "oh ****" (again, pretty impolite) and went to the back. I stood around waiting as my group impatiently wanted to leave, and 20 minutes later no one showed up, so I advised the other hostess that we were leaving because we were told to, and we hadn't received our bill, because the servers were too busy gossiping (they were all standing in a circle near the kitchen). I left my business card in case they ever wanted to bill us, but I never got a call back.
Getting asked to leave a table because "we were loitering" is pretty much the most annoying thing I have encountered at a restaurant. Especially since we had crap service all night and couldn't get the bill after asking several times.

TL: DR = Boston Pizza is the worst.
That's frikkin unbelievable! I'd have to think a terrible staff is the fault of a bad manager and not necessarily the chain itself. The Cages in the West Island serve the same blah food, but at least the service is nice. Young, usually very cute girls. Can't count how many times my wife has said, "She's flirting with you, y'know."

"Who is?"

"The waitress".

"Who's our waitress - the fat/skinny one?" (I've discovered that saying, "The slim one with the amazing ass?", is the wrong answer)

The food is a lot better than it used to be. It's nothing special, but it's edible.

Eat before you go. Maybe there is a McD's nearby, you can sneak out for junior chicken

Couldn't understand why there was only 1 burger on the menu (blitz burger) but now there's like 3-4 burgers...

Absolutely horrible chicken. McD's has the worst chicken sandwiches/burgers can't even consider them chicken.

Just for the main course? Anywhere from $10-15 on average, I'd say.

Only sports bar I enjoyed in Montreal is MVP, and even then it's not great. Station is meh minus the food, atmosphere, and seating.

And yet having one of those is better than anything at Cage.

My gf is a waitress there and at first I was skeptical and thought it was garbage like La Cage but I was surprised. Ate like 4-5 times there and the food was good all the times and less expensive than La Cage.

My 2 cents.

EDIT; rofl didnt see dat necrobump
One of the absolute hottest waitresses I've ever seen was at Boston Pizza in Mirabel. I'd go back there any time lol. Hope it's not your gf though lol.

I know not many people order this kind of stuff when going to La Cage, but do they have healthy options and, if so, how are those?

To be honest, Montreal has such a selection of great restaurants at varying prices that I do not understand why anyone considers to eat at La Cage.

People don't go there for fine dining. They go there to watch the game.

Yes. That's why I'm now only able to communicate on message boards...

Seriously, I had 'em once with a friend. Stupid hot. I don't see the point of putting something in my mouth with no actual taste, whose only purpose is to inflict pain.

Okay, I've just given someone a chasm-wide punchline...

Yeah but I mean there are other better places to watch the game, Brouhaha on Lorimier is the best.

you should get out of the province more often if you think there is pride with cage as our "identity" lol..you will learn how pathetic it is.

our sports bar scene is garbage. we have a few irish pubs that are really great but compared to other big cities we dont fare well in this category. then again, we dont have a nba, nfl or mlb so maybe there lies part of the answer

My girlfriend and I both ate at La Cage a few months ago, decided to give it another try since I never liked it years ago, but it's still pathetic. Can get much better food for similar prices elsewhere.

People have different threshold for spicyness. I love them personally, they're just perfect amount of heat for me.
