Really don't understand why Torts was playing Boyle so much. He's an effective player in the right role, and that role is playing 10-12 minutes a night, and killing penalties. Not PP time, not extra ES time. 3rd line minutes.

Torts misusing his players.

One of his best games ever, he was absolutely locked in, incredible to watch. It's like he knew where the puck was going all night long. Fun to watch.

How is Hank not a star?

My three:
Hank

Zucc
Nash

I'd vote for special teams if I could.

Hey guys, 'Canes fan here.

In my never ending quest for some semblance of objectivity, I have two questions:

--What stuck out about the 'Canes tonight the most? Strengths, weaknesses, etc.
--When you normally play the 'Canes, what really describes their team playstyle?

Thanks for your well thought out, non flaming answers!

Yeah Boyle was ridiculously overused tonight, and he was awful, rewarded with a goal though! That Karma sure is an interesting thing to study...

Also think it should be pointed out that Bobby Sanguinetti got the Rangers, Jesper Fast, and in a way, also got us Rick Nash... so, thank you, Bobby

People ripped on Boyle anyway last night after a good game, so he purposely made that turnover tonight so those people wouldn't embarrass themselves. He's a nice a guy.

I really hope all these 6000 minutes a night for Boyle is a showcasing come draft time. Sam or Joe did say teams where interested.

He'll get more chances in other games, im sure

I did find it somewhat strange though.. normally Torts is careful with playing him in certain situations (never on the PK, not on 4on4 apparently either), but he was out there with 1 minute to go and the Canes having an extra skater on (maybe it was just because of the icings).

This is my biggest gripe with Boyle, and it's not even his fault.

We had Hank with his best game, and Boyle with his worst. The guy is a complete idiot out there.
