well Dorsett had 15 Brassard had 16 on the Jackets and Moore had 4 on the Jackets which is Del Zotto jersey number here..

Ok, so at least Moore was thinking that way.

Brassard has been awesome. I love his play making ability. He definitely has the potential to be a 2C. And I've noticed all the Boyle hate on this board. I for one find it to be a little unwarranted. With Boyle you get what you get. He's a grinder, good on faceoffs, and a good PKer who will get you the occasional dirty goal. But there was a stretch at the end of last year where he was our best player. Brassard and Boyle already have really good chemistry. I can't wait to see Dorsett sporting the Rangers jersey! LGR!
Moore instantly upgraded our defensive depth.

The career of Marian Gaborik hasn't followed the path he expected. Dealt to the Columbus Blue Jackets at the deadline, it might be a good time for somebody to remind the 31-year-old winger how he turned down a long-term, $79-million deal from Minnesota Wild in 2009 because he thought he could get $100 million as a UFA. Instead, Gaborik signed a five-year, $35-million deal and was run out of New York by coach John Tortorella. So much for the bright lights of the big city. The Jackets were the only team interested in the $7.5 million left on Gaborik's contract next year

I highly, *highly*, doubt that the "Jackets were the only team interested"

Gabby thought he could get $100M? That's so dumb it can't be true. Can it?

Since he turned down a 79 mill offer, i expect it to be right on the mark.

Him turning down $79M from Minnesota could've been his way of saying he wants to test the market and go to another team.

Kovalchuk turned down a 10 year, $100M (IIRC) contract from Atlanta because he didn't want to be there anymore.

He wanted out. He took less money to play elsewhere which shows that he's not all about $$$. Just like Kovy, and countless other professional athletes.

True, but he was with the Wild for 8 years, and has a history of financial issues (maybe more due to his agents than him, i really cant say). Given that though, its certainly not impossible that he'd be wanting a bigger paycheck. One of his more eyebrow raising quotes is "i know my value"

Or as you said, he might just have wanted a change of scenery.

Its a different atmosphere in the room, Lundqvist said of a roster revamped by this weeks deadline deals. Not only did we get some really skilled players, but it changed the dynamic in the room. Its just a lot better feeling in here. It looks like the lines are working better together, and were going to need it.

Very interesting. It shows how good the 4 new guys adjust to the group dynamic.

Interesting quote by Lundqvist.

That's a dig at Gabby. I guess he had a locker room problem because he too left saying, "at least someone wants me here (in CBJ)"

Hank shoves Gabby under the bus, gives a motion to Torts who goes ahead and drives it forward.

Gaborik also had an ice problem. I think the players got sick of watching him float around and sulk just like some of the fans did.

Also insinuates that Gaborik was becoming a bit of a malcontent.

Damn, I thought the two were like best friends off the ice. Never expected Gabby to be a locker room cancer.

Not necessarily. It could just be that the new guys bring back that locker room chemistry we have before losing Prust, Feds, Ani and Dubi.

Can't find it right now but didn't McD have a quote that hinted at some locker room trouble too?

Not in the least bit surprising if it's true.

You could see there were some major issues with the mental makeup of the squad this year. Effort was real up and down.

Not sure if Lundqvist is talking about the difference between now and a week ago, or between now and a year ago.

A lot of players have left since we made the conference finals.

Gaborik, Dubinsky, Anisimov, Erixon, Rupp, Fedotenko, Mitchell, Prust, Bickel, Kreider (temp.)

The players we acquired in the same time-span and played for us are Gilroy, Hamrlik, Nash, Brassard, Dorsett, Moore, Zuccarello, Pyatt, Asham, Powe, Miller, Haley, Ferriero, Mashinter, Halpern (left already). That's a long list!
