Getzlaf has become a player who I have complete faith in defensively, and I don't know if there is a situation where I'd say "He doesn't belong out there."
Mike Babcock agrees also - he had Getzlaf out there with a minute to go protecting the lead in the gold medal game in the Olympics. Canada did get scored on but it doesn't change the fact that he was one of the 3 forwards out there.

Also Etem is great on the PK and at backchecking but at actual positional play in his own zone he's average at best.

According to our Norfolk affiliate, Cousineau has been called in to back up Fasth while Hiller is out. I doubt that would be the case in the playoffs.

Edit: I think he may have misspoke seeing as Cousineau is in Norfolk, not Anaheim. Is Bobkov up?

I wonder if he got that cold just to resolve my question on the 3G?

From Boudreau "Ryan didn’t have any setback. He’s day-to-day”

Here's hoping he can get healthy and back for the playoffs. How long was Fowler out for when he was day to day?

Too long, but that was a concussion.

I assume that Getzlaf was just smart enough to take a precautionary day off rather then risk further injury.

So, does Lydman sit again tomorrow or does he rotate in for someone?

And does the 4th line go to Beleskey Steckel Staubitz to match up with the Kings 4th line? Or stay with the kid line?

My opinion. (baring a return by el capitan)

Ryan/Palm - Getzlaf - Perry
Etem - Lombardi? - Ryan/Palm
Winnik - Koivu - Cogs
Beleskey - Steckel - Staubitz

I would. He could use some rest, and it would allow for Staubitz to play.

I honestly forgot about him, he does does need some rest, 2 weeks until playoffs want him gunning 100%.

Have too many players that can play its hard to slot people in.

Most players are pretty much needed in the lineup now.

Getz, Perry, Ryan, Etem, Palmieri, Beleskey, Steckel (over 50% faceoff last 3 games), Cogs, Koivu,

you have 3 spots open for:

Winnik (might be hurt), Selanne (tired), Dvorak, Staubitz, Lombardi, Holland (should go to ads now).

When bonino is ready Holland should be sent down. Also once we clinch a playoff berth I really do think we ought to sit most of our vets for a few games.

I think he should go now, Norfolk is in a tied playoff race and could really use him, and the team has enough centers to cover the position right now.

Eric Stephens ‏@icemancometh 30m

Oilers D Justin Schultz on how he'll be received in ANA: "I donít know. Weíll see when game time comes. Whatever happens, it is what it is."

Schultz said he's thought about tomorrow's game, thinks it being this late in season "might make it a little easier."

Schultz on if Ducks did anything to foul up relationship: "No. It was just me having the option to be a free agent and choose where (1/2)

(more) I wanted to play and I saw an opportunity in Edmonton. I donít regret making that decision." (2/2)

He doesn't regret going to a god awful team where his defensive abilities have been exposed big time? If he signs here he's likely still getting top PP minutes with very sheltered minutes at even strength.

Good for him. I hope somebody absolutely levels him tomorrow night.

I still think he's full of ****. The Nucks and Wings were after him, too. There had to be tampering there.

Even though I can't stand the idea of defending Justin frigging Schultz, what's he gonna say? "Yep, I did not think that one through. Definitely regret it, Oilers suck." Well, he would instantly climb a lot of steps on the respect ladder, but that's not really an option.

Oh, yeah. No objections. Hoping for a few heavy hits and a turnover/bad pinch leading directly to a Ducks goal. I kind of expect a 1G, 2A, and miraculously a +2 night, though.

That would be good, but since we have nobody capable of that (), I'd settle for a -4 night.

I hope he can play against Etem, so he can just blow by him every rush and then crush him on the forecheck.

Schultz is a good skater with an active stick. He should actually match up pretty well against Etem.

Getzlaf, on the other hand, would destroy him.
