I'm from Central New York, and never lived outside of it until August 2005. I'm now 1600 km away, in a swampy state capital where you sweat within 30 seconds of going outside during the summer. So I'm from Upstate New York, and I am "Transported" to Tallanasty, FL.
When I first came to HF, pre meltdown, I just used my first name but there were several Dan's, so after the meltdown you had to re-register, and everything was Hab this or Hab that, and I couldn't think of anything so I came up with Montreal cause that was the brand of stick I used (I played in the USHS '89-'91) I loved the Montreal sticks cause they had a good curve and my dad wouldn't let me burn my sticks for a better curve, plus they had a cool name since Mats Naslund was my favorite player and the Habs were my favorite team. I kept the name cause it stuck and from being on so many different boards with that username people knew who I was when I went to new sites which makes things a little easier.

I wanted my name to include the habs somehow in the name but also show my more "spiritual" side ("Fate") to pick up online...
hey it must have worked I'm in a relationship with the same girl i've been with for the last couple of years (as a matter of fact in about a month we're moving in a house we bough together)....I guess my "Fate" is now sealed
Jeff Hackett was our back to back MVP over the lean years.
Yeah, the team sucked but at least Hackett's competitiveness always was worth watching.
Plus, he handled himself with class when Theodore was emerging and eventually taking the reigns away from Hackett. He didn't complain and was an ultimate teammate.
Too bad he never got to play on a decent team in his prime years. And for some reason, Hackett was never the same after he left montreal. Coincidence?
Ernie ? He'd be 51, I guess. It's not that common a name and I got a flash back of taking attendance in Grade 3 ? My Mom probably burned the class pictures in a purifacation ritual.
